Is it their bodies, their grace, their abilities? What do you think the reason is? I've often wondered myself why there aren't as many shots on the man's face than there are on the woman's, and her body.

Most porns like the ones you are speaking of are targeted towards a straight male audience. Therefore the focus is going to be on the woman's body rather than then man's.

It also goes a little farther than that. Women are fortunate enough to have two areas of interest (breasts, vagina), while men only have one (penis).
Additionally, it seems that there is more effort put into finding sexy/attractive women than men. Perhaps the casting crews need to re-evaluate that.

I agree with you. Also most of the woman are beautiful, they are all doll up, eye candy.

Porn industries main clients are male, plus there is just something about a woman's body that can control men and women alike and can get them to spend money. lol
While someone could argue that you might potentially be biased, this is rather accurate. The eye naturally tends to want to follow curves. Any basic art student and then some could tell you that much. Obviously, women are typically curvier. Whether you are attracted to women or not I think that most people can universally appreciate the female form over the male form.
Honestly? My opinion is that most of the men in porn really are not that attractive. I have yet to find a porn where I thought, "Wow, what a hunk!"

I think that Alicia is right, most porn is angled toward the straight man. Maybe all of that hot guys are in gay porn? I dont' know!
Personally, I don't mind it at all, because I would rather see a girl than a man any ways.

I agree completely. Why is that? I like to watch porn and it would be nice to see a hunk every now and then. The last movie we watched, the man looked like he had been beaten up recently. Awful!

I think because it started as a mans thing, but it bugs me sometimes. Same with regular R rated movies..always breasts...wheres the penis?! I wonder how men would feel if there was always the token huge perfect penis in every R movie, and if in porn men were always featured as much if not more than women....hmmm?!

They show more women because the porn companies are selling to mostly men. Men is their usual market, so, if you get a regular (not gay, or all male) porn, then you are going to see the women more. After all, what straight man is going to want to watch a well-hung (or ridiculously large guy) pounding away at a girl close up? No, men want to see the woman's reactions, that's why they do that.
I see this as a very ancient impulse. If you look at art through the millenia there are so many images of women. Yes, there are images of men as well, but many of these were rendered by gay artists!
I also think about women's magazines and how there are so many beautiful women portrayed in them. Ladies, even if they aren't bisexual, also have a penchant for viewing the female figure.
It's all so mysterious...
Then again, you could argue that a huge portion of the porn industry is targeted at straight males.
If you are academically interested in this subject, I know there are essays about the "male gaze" in feminist literature.
I have to disagree. Although the female form is attractive, many people feel the male form is absolutely sublime! Michelangelo actually used male models for many of his paintings of females, and simply added breasts either with or without any hip and belly padding. Many Renaissance artists and even artists today, as well as lay people think the male form is absolutely beautiful.
Although I enjoy looking at a beautiful, well built woman, I enjoy the look of a man's body and face much more. The firm defined pecs, the abdominal muscles, the slightly jutting slim hips, sliding into the pelvic region, those shoulders. OMG, the shoulders of a finely built man.
Not to mention the other assets of men. Unlike some, I like the way penis and testes look. I think they are very attractive.
I prefer porn where the man is nicely built and is shown. We have a DVD where you rarely see the guys. There are women in the way the entire time. It's a crappy movie anyway. The scenes go on too long, the women are, face it, not very attractive, they men are a bit better looking, but you don't get to see them unless they are coming. We rarely watch it.
But, yes, I imagine, as a lot of porn is made "for men" you see the women more. There is more and more porn made for women, and the hetero porn made "for women" or "for couples" tends to have better shots of the men, better looking men, and tends to linger on them.
I defy anyone to look at this and tell me it isn't attractive. (OK, I didn't put one of him nude, as I thought it wasn't appropriate. But, I can assure you, he's even better looking with nothing on.

It's the audience. Porn is made for men almost 99% of the time. It's almost like because it's socially unacceptable for men to have sex toys, they get porn. And vice versa for women.
