WHAT?! This is new to me, I think. I'll check it out, but to answer your question, no I've never done that. I don't get turned on by sounds, if that's what this is about. Making your skull tingle, interesting. I don't know about that, but I'm misophonic & I've described some sounds as "making my head scream" or making my head "shake," but I don't know about tingle. I'll have to look into what this is so that I actually know. Sounds interesting, although I probably wouldn't get anything from sounds sexually. Neat though.

I haven't, but coincidentally I just learned about this two minutes ago... so maybe I'll give it a chance!

I had to google this:

A good resource here: link

At best, though, I find it.. non-effecting. At worst, it's annoying.

It was also new to me up to now.

Quite confusing how to apply during a BDSM session but I know the sensation of ASMR.

Do you use it for BDSM reasons?

It's an interesting idea, I guess I could see trying it sometime, especially seeing as how things being whispered by his ear turn him on.
=3
I think until then though, the closest my man and I would get is the clicking of high heels on a hard floor. x'D

Although this is the first I've ever heard of this outside of possibly using a clicker to train a sub during a pet play session like you would a dog or cat.

Whispering is a great trigger for some people. Of course, it is intensified by sensory deprivation, ie. blindfolds.

Clicking, tapping, and scratching sounds often drive people wild! Scratching on the back of old books or sequinned things is one of my strongest triggers, personally. I love seeing a person squirm from sensory play!

Different kinds of gentle touch! Weight on the body! Head-scratching!

ASMR responses are varied and can feel like a smile or like head-to-toe tingling...

So... yes! I love ASMR and incorporate it into BDSM and non-BDSM parts of my life!

What does ASMR feel like for you all?

Is there a positive or negative ASMR? I remember a feeling close to pain when you eat with fork and knive and the knive scratches along the fork. Or if you use your fingernails to scratch across a longplaying record. Even when writing this every hair on my arm is errect.

And there is a somehow positive feeling, like using one of this chi massage devices on the scalp.

YES! There are some sounds that just bring on those tingles and make things so much more intense. For years I would listen to certain professors lecture, or I would hear certain sounds that brought on these feelings that I couldn't really explain to anyone and I finally discovered what was behind them. It is still hard to explain how it feels and that it is not really a sexual thing, but it can be incorporated into it. Youtube has some pretty good ASMR videos too that are very relaxing after a stressful day.

I wasn't familiar with the term ASMR and I'm not part of the BDSM community but there definitely are components that I regularly enjoy.

Whispering can be sexy but words spoken in a low, growly, guttural tone add that extra edge. But then again, I think I'm just a sucker for voices - how else to explain my love of Martin Sheen since I was a literally a child?! LOL

Body weight, head scratching/massage, touching my face can give me tingles and shivers - in a good way.

I never heard of it, sounds like other torture simulation that I do know of however. So yes, I would!

I think I know of this sensation. Kind of when I get kissed lightly in the ear and they breathe out when they do it, or whisper in my ear, this kind of works for me that way. Not exactly sure if it is the same thing. If it helps, I also have audio/visual synthesia.

EDIT: Just read an interesting article on it, I just found out that I do get these triggers. Wow!

No. I actually hate any outside sound like this. Makes me lose the mood.

I started researching the net about this topic because of curiosity and I found following videos. I became quite addicted, they give me an intense shiver over my spine, especially the second one:

I've been wanting to, since I tend to react to touch, rhythmic sounds (tapping, music), and certain tones. It would be interesting.

Not particularly in that sense, but my dom uses different sounds during sensory dep. play to confuse me. I personally enjoy the sound of scratching on skin with nails, but never knew it was anything fetish-y like. Thanks for giving me something new to learn about!
