Bloodplay, ever heard of it?

Contributor: Voir Voir
I'm not sure if this is entirely accurate in being in the BDSM section but whenever I heard mention of this 'kink' it was in conjunction with BDSM, and given it's more erm... painful nature (I'm assuming anyway) I figured people here would know more about it.

What does it entail? What do you think about it?

Bloodplay is an active part of my kink life. I do play piercings, artistic cuttings, knife play, and blood cupping. I'm also a sanguinarian, so do ingest blood with my fluid bonded partner.

My partner really loves bloodplay. We tried it in the past, but at the time he was living with his parents and his father ended up finding some of our materials. It did not end well, and we haven't done much since, unfortunately. Hopefully we will start back up in the future.

That's pretty cool :0 hehe I'd be interested and maybe trying out bloodplay with someone I trusted, after sufficient research in the topic.

Ughhh parents finding things is always damn stressful ;-; I'm so glad my parents don't go through my room... they'd find lots of things to rage at me for >.<

Yeah, just be sure to take fluid barrier precautions unless you are fluid bonded with the person and know their latest bloodwork/STI status. You do run the risk of being exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

I've heard of it. My partner and I don't really like the sight of blood.. but we like just about everything else o.o weird. I do want him to eventually "scar" me in his own way when it comes to that point.. but blood.. ehh.. lol!

That's kinda ironic, considering I consider playing with cum to be gross. It just goes to show that not everyone is turned on by the same things, and what may turn you on may be a turn off to others!

Blood play encompasses just about any sort of play involving blood from intentional cutting to menstrual blood. The definition seems to vary depending on the person's individual desires but the binding factor is blood.

Blood play can vary from artistic cutting to having sex during menstruation. It all depends.

It is completely healthy when the two partners are consenting and doing it in a safe way.

Super into this! On both sides, though I prefer to be the one getting sliced/pierced/etc.

I refuse to make myself bleed. Blood condition. Not to mention that I just hate the sight of myself bleeding. However, if my partner wants to do bloodplay, that's fine. They can bleed all they want, but I can not stand the idea of doing it to myself.

I've tried blood play, and blood drinking (knowing full well myself and my partner were clean)... I went through a bit of a "vampire stage." I consider knife play to be seperate to blood play, but I suppose everyone has different ideas of what they all mean... I suppose it's because you can "play with a knife" without drawing blood. Hmn.
(Slightly off topic, but I love reading everyone's comments. They're so interesting and insightful)

I read pretty much everyone's comments too hehe even if I don't respond to them ;-; ...

Back on topic. I agree knife play, the idea of it anyway is extremely exciting to me although I've never had a partner willing to try it. I would also consider it separate from blood play, as in blood play it is just the means to an end rather than the device which causes arousal itself. ;3 although I can see how they could overlap as well hehe

I have heard of it and I know people who are into it. My boyfriend kind of likes blood, but I can't because it is triggering for me because of my past.

Wow. I have actually never heard of bloodplay, but that sounds like an extremely dynamic kink. I'm going to have to do some research now...
