I just finished my freshman year of college. I've made friends that will probably last a lifetime. They're extremely open-minded and only judging in the sense that they're worried about my safety. I told my new best friend first and she made no big deal out of it. With each person, it became easier and easier to tell the next. If I counted correctly, 7 of my friends know. I've only had one negative response so far. I'm planning on telling 2 of my friends from high school this week so they can be my safe call. I'm not exactly sure how they'll take it at first but I'm confident that they'll be supportive in the end.

The good have definitely outweighed the bad though. It's sort of freeing to be able to talk openly to my real life friends about it since I don't have that many online friends and none of them I'm close to besides my Dom.

My brother and cousin both know. I decided to tell them because if for some reason something happened during play, and I had to go to the hospital (which I seriously don't think would happen, but I'm cautious anyways. Both of them didn't get it until I really sat down and explained it to them. I don't know that I'd ever be able to call my partner "Master" in their presence, but they know who he is and how he treats me in private. They had no issue so long as I was consenting to it.

My close friends know. Some of my girlfriend's friends know, too. She's less shy about it than I am. (Although I'm not exactly shy. I've worn collars in public before. Some people might take the hint.)

Some of my good friends should know because I put a nude barbie doll in Kinbaku and hung it above my LP-Player (that's a device similar to an MP3-Player, but much huger).
