I adore needle play, both giving and receiving. One of my birthday presents from my Master this year was wings on my back, done with needles. I also found a sub to play with recently who adores this type of play as much as I do...she asked for a play piercing corset earlier in the month. Love it. But because I'm a sadist/top I didn't see an option for "I love my pincushions".
Needle play is something you should try first with an experienced top in a public play space if possible. I'm fond of making endorphin buttons and pretty geometric patterns with needles.
Remember there will be blood. Play safe and go slowly. I had a very heavy pain slut try needles. One 24 gauge needle (that's small) and he was "shocky". For newbies that's went into shock. Blood pressure drop, chalky, cold.
It was a surprise to everyone. That's why you need an experienced top. Who knows what to look for and can "call it" ie end the scene when it goes wonky. I pulled the needle and got him covered in a blanket and sipping juice asap.
Every scene is different, every time. Kind of like the aphorism "you can never step in the same river twice".

I haven't done stapling, but I enjoy decorating others with needle patterns. I also like being used as a pincushion, though much less than I actually like poking other people with the sharp shinies.

I've tried it a couple of times. I wouldn't really call each time sexual, definitely a turn on though it is hard to explain. It takes so much out of you physically that afterwards I never wanted actual sex although you do get a bit of a rush. The the most extreme things done on me was a corset on my chest and I had my mouth sewn shut. Most extreme thing done to another was a spiral of piercings that ran up the arm and across the back about 50 piercings total. It takes so much out of you physically (for both parties) that afterwards I never wanted actual sex although you do get a bit of a rush.
