I'm curious as to what other peoples' experiences with this type of play is.
Have you ever tried needle play or stapling?

Not my thing. I still have a scar from my belly button ring, that's the last time I pierce my skin intentionally.
06/19/2011
Haven't tried it but god I want too! I have friends in the local BDSM scene who do it and I've always wanted to try it. I love piercings and I always get aroused when i get a new one.
06/19/2011
I am not interested in trying this anytime soon. I don't think I would be into needles like that...
06/19/2011
It's not for me.
06/19/2011
not my thing
06/19/2011
I've never done stapling, but a lot of needle play in the past. Still would do it but my guy isn't into it. I have piercings and I like the feeling though
06/19/2011
Not my kind of thing. I thought about it for a while, but I don't think I'm invested in the idea enough to actually go through with anything
06/19/2011
That isn't really my type of thing.
06/19/2011
Not my thing. Just the idea gives me the shivers.
06/20/2011
Not going to happen.
06/20/2011
I do not understand how pain and sex go together.
06/20/2011
I've never been into that. I know my man wouldn't - needles give him the creeps!
06/20/2011
the hell you say

NOOOOO. Needles don't freak me out nearly as much as staple... Wtf? stapling someone does not seem like a good idea at all unless you are a certified surgeon.

not sexually, but I used to put needles under my skin all the time as a kid

I think some people have a hard time understanding what turns others on. I also think it's a good idea (and we've done a good job, pretty much so far) to respect other people's predilections without criticizing.
Yes, some people DO process certain types of pain, or as I prefer to call it "Intense Sensation" into an arousing experience. It may be partly due to experience, or it may be the way some people's neurological systems work. Intense sensation promotes the production of endorphins and adrenaline, while both contribute to enjoyment, pleasure as well as spur the memory of the events.
If you don't get off on Intense Sensation, you don't. Your neurology and experience don't work that way. That's OK. But, some people, many in fact, do. No reason to criticize.
My only caveat with needle play (which, although I personally enjoy many forms of intense sensation, is not one of my activities) is to keep everything very clean, preferably sterilized. It is difficult to sterilize staples, so keep that in mind. (the staples used in surgical procedures are autoclaved or come already autoclaved and sealed) A needle hole is a host to many pathogens, and pre and after care is a must for any type of play which breaks the skin.

Actually, stapling is a lot easier for the top to learn and hence safer for the bottom. The medical staple guns come sterile and pre-charged with clean staples. And they automatically insert to a specific shallow depth. As long as the skin is properly sterilized, there is little room for error with it.

Yes, this is excellent advice. Everyone should be aware that I am referring to sterile medical needles and sterile, disposable surgical staple guns. DO NOT, try to grab your sewing kit or the Swingline off of your desk and try this out.

I cannot believe that I am being the spoil sport on so many posts today. I am usually the one who is supporting all the zillions of ways people can have fun...but I am in health care and so I have to point this out...sorry. 1. Your skin is the first line and most important defense you have against a zillion diseases out there, and which are ever more virulent and nasty in their effects on the human body. 2. Without sterilization of a needle and VERY conscientious cleaning of the skin, I would always worry about introducing disease into the body with any violation of that "armor" you have been gifted with. I cannot imagine that level of care is being utilized by everyone "at home".

Please folks, just be VERY, VERY careful...whatever activity you engage in.
As for me...well, I was doing work in bed for a presentation the next day..and using a stapler. One staple got "lost" in the sheets and I "found it" when I accidentally sat on it later. Nope...nothing sexual or fun in that in MY book. OUCH. I guess for me it is a desire to find all gain, NO pain!!! However, I guess, in answer to your question, I DO have experience with it!!!

No option for wanting to try it?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I hope that was clear enough. I used to pass out at the doctor when they would give me shots. I also have a scar on my hand from when I stapled my hand on accident as a kid. If that is for you, cool, have fun, but I will be sure not to get involved.

It's been my experience in the kink community that the needles used during play piercing have been sterile and single use. I certainly wouldn't let anyone stick me with needles that I hadn't seen opened in front of me, and would never do that to my subs.

Wow thanks for clearing that up. This is embarassing, but as a person with literally 10 bajillion different arts and crafts supplies and little BDSM experience, that is exactly where my imagination went! It still sounds like something a little too intense for me, but at least now I'm not so concerned about the safety of anyone else who might dig it.

I've never done it but I'd be willing to try. I didn't see that option on the poll.
