How do you explain away your marks?

Contributor: Pixel Pixel
My sadist loves to bite/do rough body play, and I usually end up with bruises, scratches and whatnot after we've had a scene. I usually try to wear clothing that covers them, but sometimes we aren't as careful as we could be or it's just too hot to wear long sleeves, so they show.

I've found that telling people who ask about the marks "Oh, I do MMA (you could substitute self defense classes, etc)!" seems to make any awkward questions go away.

What's your story?

Most of my bruises and marks are usually on my thighs and my bum. i don't usually have my bare bum and upper thighs on display. Once in a while i've had a dance or fitness class where some cane marks on my thighs showed but either no one noticed or no one wanted to ask about the marks lining my thighs. More often, i've been sitting very gingerly or wincing as i sat and someone noticed but if asked, i usually just say "Oh, i have a bruise" and don't really offer more info. Most people don't push for info, unless they are friends, and then most of my friends know that i'm involved in BDSM or, if they don't, i don't have a problem telling them.

I've made sure never to bruise my sub in a visible place, and she usually wears pants and long sleeve shirts. Otherwise, she goes with bumping into something

My girlfriend had a few scars on her back from when she was a younger child. She was never able to identify where they came from, but it looks like three big slashes. When she want to a meetup with a few other people they would avoid her back and asked a whole bunch of questions about me because they assumed that I slashed her. I've never even bruised her, except for the inside of her thighs (oops). I'm super gentle in our BDSM play, but having to explain those scars away...

Most of my marks are on my butt and sometimes my thighs. Not usually showing those off to people, so it's never been an issue.

I'm super clumsy and live with bruises all over, so even if someone saw one I doubt they'd ask any questions.

My Marks Are Usually Easily Hidden. If Anybody Were To Ask About A Visible Mark, I'd Normally Say I Fell Down The Stairs Or Something.

I have a bit a reputation as being clumsy, and being proud of my bruises (no matter the cause, they are pretty).. so people don't really ask about most of the marks anymore, which is nice, and when they do I've always been fine with being like "oh I bumped into something" if its just one noticeable one, or "I'm a clumsy drunk" when there's more.

Most of mine end up under clothing, though I have had a few elsewhere...I like to be like, "oh, I have no idea where I got that! Weird!" It's fun to play innocent.

lmao. new years eve two years ago i believe. i had a relatively noticeable hickey on my neck from my girlfriend, and i had pretty long, curly hair at the time so i figured thatd help me out. nope, her family noticed. then we made a few excuses like "magic birth marks" and "straightener burns" haha. neither worked, but funny to think about

My partner and I always make sure to be careful with placement of bite marks, where bruises might occur, etc. If the occasional spot occurs where I can't cover it, I have to use makeup. I'd rather not explain that to my boss, lol. My family and friends don't mind the marks at all though, and don't question them anymore. XD

Nobody has ever asked, but I tend to have plenty of bruises from dizzy spells already.... *shrugs*

Once my partner and I first began playing rough, we were careless with bruise/bite placements and it led to her being questioned at work regarding potential domestic abuse. Oops!

Now that we're much more careful, I only bite towards the back of her neck, where her long hair or a collar will cover it. As for bruising, it's scarcely intentional, but she bruises so easily that I'm certain to only be rough where clothing can cover it so she doesn't have to explain herself to begin with.

Unfortunately, I recently got carried away and she's sporting a big bruise on her lower forearm. Good thing it's long-sleeve friendly weather.
