Me, I would just come straight out with it but I realise that some people are a little more conservative than I am so maybe you could seduce him, get him all worked up and climb into his lap and whisper in his ear that you want to try something new and bring out some silk ties or some soft rope or even a light fogger that tickles more than anything else. I just came out with it and told my husband (we'd been married 17 years at the time) one night while we were in the tub. Well, maybe buying gear may not be the best way to go. Maybe just try to get it look like a spur of the moment thing. Get his tie or belt, ask him to tie you up and then say, 'do what you will with me.' - or something to that effect.

Away from anything sexual, I talked to my boyfriend about some of my bondage experiences and fantasies, asked how he felt about it, then one evening, before he was home, pulled out mild bondage gear and laid it all on the bed. I asked for exactly what I wanted, let him choose how far we went, and just sort of talked him through some things. He had no bondage experience ever so it was actually really fun and exciting : )

Have a scarf or someting bedside and the next time you two start up, grab the item and ask him if he would tie you up? It gives him an out if he is completely freaked out, but then you can talk about it later. If he is willing, it may be the start of something good. Just make sure that he does not tie too tight and that you do not struggle against the binds too much, possibly making this first attempt a negative experience for either of you by causing an injury.
