Are any of you on kinky social sites such as collarme or fetlife? What do you get out of the experience if you are? What problems do you see with such sites? Have you ever met a future partner on one of those sites?

I use fetlife to find events and keep in touch with people I meet at larger events that aren't necessarily local. Fet has far fewer creepers than collarme, but there are still inappropriately creepy people on fet.

Been on both at different points, and others. Fetlife is much less sketchy than Collarme because it's structured so that it's possible to sort users based on their general location or shared interest but you can't do searches based on gender/age/orientation or identity (dom/sub/top/bottom/et c). It's far less of a meat market that way, and it's a good way to find events and groups in your area. But yeah, there are creeps everywhere, you just gotta learn to ignore it and be careful about posting too much personal information.

The hubby and I were on collarme for a while but found it completely useless so we started using fetlife exclusively. I like to use it to keep in touch with kinky friends and to find local events to go to.

I hate those sites. I don't have any kinky friends to keep in touch with so they are pretty useless to me.
I was using them to look into events, but I just hated being there. I got a lot of pushy people. Some writing me dominating messages, and then they would get upset when I asserted myself and told them they were not my Dom and I didn't appreciate their inappropriate behavior.
I prefer Leather and Rosesit isn't fancy, it's not super popular and it is good for people that want to take it seriously. I haven't had any problems with creepers or overeager Dom's/Domme's here.
They aren't just social, they have poetry, stories, resources, INFORMATION, and a lot of generally good stuff. I would probably recommend this to anyone who is just starting out.
Some parts of the site are outdated (links too ) But I like to read all the information, and stories, for ideas.

I've used Collarme, FetLife, and Alt.com (a few times).
In my experience FetLife is the best...I had way too many creepy 60+ year old guys chatting me up on Collarme so I never use it any more and I haven't really played around with Alt enough to know if I like it but so far I find it confusing and a little tedious.
