My wrist hurts.... from using a crop?

Contributor: Tessa Taboo Tessa Taboo
I got a crop for the first time the other day. I used it on my husband quite vigorously the other night (with his consent of course), and he was trying to teach me how to 'flick' my wrist to use it properly, rather than just haul off and beat him with it... lol. Anyway, now my wrist and forearm are sore as hell. Who knew that just USING the crop could be so hard! Any tips for what I might be doing wrong?

It might just be using new muscles.

Wow. I have no idea. I've never had anything like that happen, not with using something like a whip. I don't use crops though, no siree, so maybe that is why. I never have had anything cause my wrists to be sore... except pole climbing...

Is it sore muscles or an ache/something feels pulled? If it's in your muscles and feels sore similar to when you workout or when you first begin a tougher level of working out, then it's probably just that you've discovered new muscles. When I first began using a fitness pole, I remember feeling muscles where I didn't even know it was possible! Like my arm pits! So it could just be that your wrists aren't used to having to really do vigorous activity over & over and they're kind of awakening.

It's weird... it's not like I was using it ALL night or anything... lol. Just for maybe 20 minutes? My muscles are so sore that I can hardly pick up a gallon of milk without my arm shaking.

I think it's just from using new muscles for an extended period of time that they aren't used to. My partner had that problem at first too.
