Are strap ons really considered BDSM?

I agree that this could really be categorized better under Everyday Sex - I was just looking for this subforum and got confused because it wasn't there! I ended up having to CTRL-F for it.

Philosophy of strap-ons 101 aside, I think it's just a mainstream enough thing now that it makes sense.

My wife and I have done strap-on sex that could be called BDSM--I was cuffed and collared, she was a bit rough--but we've also done it quite gently and lovingly. Both are a lot of fun!

I know it has to be categorized somewhere, but to say it's BDSM is misleading. I agree with vanillaSpice that it fits better under Everyday Sex.

I thought this was really strange, too. really patriarchal and assuming hetero/cis-ness which is not the case for a lot of people who have strap on sex.

I don't consider it BDSM.
