Hard choice...vinyl is shiny and I like shiny things, but the scent of real leather is absolutely divine.
Plus vinyl kink gear can get a bit hot and sticky, I'm sure leather gear could too under the right circumstances but with vinyl it's more likely.

Given those two things I think leather wins for me. =3

Vinyl bc its so shiny plus its better to lick and easier to clean plus has more pretty colors.

It is a close call, because I like both. But, there is just something just a little sexier about leather.

Leather ... accept no substitues. Leather boots, wallet, gloves, coat, and some other items. I love the look, feel, and definitely enjoy cleaning/ caring for those items to make sure they're at their peak appearances. So when it comes to my gear I always go leather.

My current GF is slowly swaying me to more cute 'decorated' gear but for now it's all leather (and plenty of metal).

I do love the look, smell, feel, and durability of leather, but I will no longer purchase it because of my increasing knowledge of the animal-product industry and its cruelty. If there was a way to get cruelty-free leather, say, from cows who died naturally or who at least lived and died humanely, I would pay the extra money for it.
