Depends on the collar. I like everything to look in proportion. So if it's a larger collar, it needs a larger ring. Smaller collar, smaller ring.

i guess it depends on the type of collar. but i'd probably go for a medium size. big enough to fit chain, or a decent leather leash.

Also going to say it depends on the size and style of the collar.
If it looks more decorative than functional a smaller ring would be in order, but if it's mean for serious playtime and doesn't look like some delicate fashion accessory a larger ring would work well.

It really depends. If it's a heavier collar, it can have a bigger ring. But (and this is just my opinion) a smaller collar just looks silly with a big ring.
