Whipping and flogging and paddling, Oh my!

I'm looking to get one of the above mentioned toys, but after reading through some of the posts, I realize that they all create different sensations, and are better for certain things, specifically. I have a low tolerance for receiving pain, but a high tolerance for giving it I want something that is pretty multi-purpose, can be used on lots of body parts, and can both be used nicely and create light sensation, as well as leave some nice welts. Suggestions please?

I'm new to BDSM and am looking for something similar to what you mentioned above.

I haven't tried them myself yet but you could get one of the "fur lined" paddles, the fuzzy side would hurt less and the leather side would hurt more so it seems like it'd be just right.
all such paddles I could find on here

Just be sure to read the reviews before you buy so you don't wind up with a flimsy item that'll break shortly after arriving at your door. ^_^

I love being tied to a stake on a seculded beach in a g string & being whipped by a female in a g string & being watched by others. This is an incredible sensation & I recommended it without reservation. John.

The smaller the instrument the more sting. The larger the instrument the more thud as a general rule.

The harder the toy the more thud, and the more flexible it will whip more and sting too.

To be quite honest I think paddles are fun, but if you want some versatility buy household items too. A wooden spoon works great. A small cutting board works great. There is really no toy that is going to provide a large variety of sensations. Because you cannot have a large and small flexible but hard toy.

Most toys though can simply be used lightly. I would suggest a suede flogger for a whip. It can be light, but swing it hard and it hurts. For a paddle I would suggest something medium sized. You can swing it lightly, or hard. And again I would try a wooden spoon too.

Also go to your local tack shop. You can pick up a riding crop for like 3 dollars instead of paying like 20 online for a BDSM crop. The local tack shop will also have a nice one too probably.

A paddle is going to have the least learning curve and you can get one with two different sides for variation. A flogger will require a bit more skill to wield but is my personal favorite. A well made suade or leather flogger will offer a wide range of sensations. Thicker tails mean more thud, thinner means more sting, shorter tails snap less but have very little range. Any flogger can be thrown different ways to create different effects, from gentle to not so gentle to really vicious! Single tail whips are more difficult to wield and are not a beginner toy. I recommend some time with a mentor to learn to use floggers and definitely before you try to play with single tails. Any toy will have limits on where on the body it's safe to use so do your homework and communicate with partners. Be safe!
