Do You Celebrate?

Contributor: Ivy Wilde Ivy Wilde
I used to not celebrate my birthday, but a few years ago, my husband arranged for several friends to go with us to Schlitterbahn for my birthday. It was so much fun that we have been doing it every year since.

In the past few years it's just something small with my husband, but we still celebrate each others birthdays in some way.

I'm getting to the age at which Birthdays aren't too important to celebrate, but I'm sure I will continue to celebrate, whether it is important or not.

Pretty much always, but I don't usually do all that much.

I like to celebrate but as far as dragging friends out with me, I try not to make it into a big production.

So Sir, when's your birthday?

I'm not really into the getting older, it's just a personal holiday. It's not a holiday that EVERYONE gets, it's specific to you (unless you know someone born on the same day, I guess). I consider birthdays and anniversaries to be the bigger holidays; anniversaries are for you and your partner, birthdays are for everyone else you know

Small celebration, like doing something nice for myself and spending some time with someone I love (if I have one). Nothing huge.

I ALWAYA celebrate my birthday! It's my favourite day of the year. I like to make it all about myself. Yup, I become a total egotist for one day of the year, and expect anyone and everyone to pamper me silly, starting by my very own self. I expect minor trasngressions to be overlooked and my every whim seen to by those I love.

This is pretty much the exact opposite of how I normally am (I'm the mother hen of any group, always lookign after others even at my own expense), so it's a nice break from routine.

I don't really make a big deal but my family will get together and I see a few friends maybe. Never really had a big birthday celebration.

I usually do something small and personal and I make it count. But my girl friend hasn't really ever celebrated... She thought it was weird when I made her a cake for her birthday during our first year

I haven't had a big celebration since I was 12, but I normally go have a nice-ish dinner with a close friend or significant other.

I love doing something big for my fiancee on her birthday, but I don't really like celebrating my own birthday.

I totally celebrate my birthday. There were some complications after I was born, and I feel very lucky to be here, so yeah, even if it's doing something for myself, I aways do something to celebrate.

Today is actually my birthday. I celebrated yesterday by going to Schlitterbahn with my husband and several friends. Even though it reached 111 degrees, it was still a fun day. However, I am exhausted today.

I always celebrate my birthday. There are a few times to celebrate and a birthday should be one of them. Be glad for being alive and turning another year.

We don't generally celebrate, but we go out to have a nice meal on our birthdays or near our birthdays. Our anniversary is 2 days after mine, so we normally combine the "special meal" for the 2 events.
