Contributor: Ansley Ansley
Hello everyone! Think of this thread as the official Community Suggestion Box. This month's focus is: Community Events for 2013. What would you like more of, what would you like less of?

This applies to contests and anything else you can think of for EF.

The mention of chat rooms is strictly prohibited.

BABE - January 2013 - Feel free to read through last month's suggestions, before making suggestions for February.

I'd like to be able to see an option that tells you whether a review has pictures or not without having to open it up, like the little "play" button that shows up when there's a video attached, right by the title.

I love the contests we have been having (Halloween and Valentine's day) and I think the toy decorating idea is super cute. Perhaps we could have more of those? Thanks for the opportunity to leave suggestions!

A more intuitive/streamlined way to check the availability of assignments. Right now I have 50+ items in the assignment cart, which I frequently have to run through a time-consuming one-by-one check to see if they are open for ordering. It would be super helpful to have a way to check:

a) Whether an item is available (as in, in stock and less than three waiting assignments) for monthly free assignments without having to click a ton of things.

b) Whether an item in the assignment cart is in stock before having to click and select it, which takes up a lot of time if you have many items you are interested in.

c) During a "Product search", having a filter to display only products currently -in stock and available- for free and/or buyout assignments.

I'm certain the community would really appreciate features like this and it would save so much time.

I really like the writing events, especially the ones that give tips like the one coming up on Feb 11. I know that one is more for articles.

I also recently looked at a forum that gave suggestions for lingerie reviews. What people like to know or don't think it is necessary to know. I know that it depends on the person, but any review related writing stuff is always nice too.

I don't know, maybe for up and coming people who want to get their toes wet we can have a mock review writing. You provide a few specs on the toy and then people can spin it however they like to take a stab at seeing different and creative ways to write, but be informative.....

My thoughts aren't fully fleshed out so forgive my rambling. It is all writing related!

Community Events? Hmm...

I don't know if we do this, but perhaps a thread that has people vote on things they want to learn about and then have contributors who have the knowledge share?

I love the writing contests. Perhaps as Sexis expands, we could have even more dedicated sections?

Where did that bounty list thing go? Did we ever get updates? I had my bounty hunter gear and everything :p

I like the getting to know you stuff.

Perhaps we could have a monthly vote on constructive critiques on the site? Like we put up a vote on one thing regarding the UI (user interface) we would like changed.

Thanks!

Technically everything is available as a buy-out assignment. I understand where you're coming from, given how quickly the inventory changes it would be rather difficult to create an accurate system. It's not impossible; given that the designers are always making small changes here and there that should make things easier.

I think that a tutorial option for people, like myself, that are new to the site can utilize to learn where everything is at and how to navigate to them. I believe it would be a very helpful option for those people who have joined the site and would like to read reviews, post reviews or articles, and just how to navigate the site and use it to its fullest potential.

I've been thinking of this for a while. Is it possible to have a monthly thread where contributors discuss upcoming products from manufacturers eden carries? So we can look forward to future lines from great companies?

Hey everyone, I just wanted to post an update on a few things.

First, I requested a couple of features to the photo upload process and we're currently discussing a variety of options both with the interface itself and functions for reporting images. So there will be changes to this and I will announce them once they are implemented. It could be next week, it could be next month and your patience is appreciated.

Second, if you are getting a message that your email is not verified, this is a legit glitch in the matrix and re-verifying your email address is the solution to the problem for now. The designers are looking into the issue.

I noticed the difference when I uploaded some pictures yesterday, and I LOVE the change!

You can actually resize the pictures any way you like, instead of just in a smaller square! WOO-HOO!

Thanks!

That's awesome about the picture uploading!!!
And I had noticed the e-mail issue. It only happened to me every time I placed an order, but I have just kept re-verifying.

Thanks for letting us know about the glitch! I've recently had to verify my email address about five times now; I was about to submit a ticket, but that's great that the team is already on it!

I've had to reverify many more times than that! There was one day I had to reverify like, 4 times in a row. It hasn't happened in a few days now so I'm hoping it stays that way lol

My suggestion/idea: Is there any way that it'd be possible for us to be able to edit our comments on product pages like we can edit our posts in the forums (assuming no one posts after us). The reason why I ask this is because I was recently on a product page (this one: link) and I went to go add a link to the other Love Honey products that EF sells but I guess I forgot to copy the link and ended up pasting the darn Eden Should Carry thread because that was the last thing I had posted about (in the forum). As soon as I had posted, I realized that was the wrong link and I would have made another post correcting myself but I guess you can only make one post per product page? I guess it's not a huge deal but it'd be nice to be able to edit our comments directly after posting them... or maybe I just need coffee lol

Re: Email Verification

I think I may have found the "aha!" moment for the email verification issue. Up until about six minutes ago, my registered email address was my EF work email. (It's just easier that way.) I received an assignment and when I went to process it, I used a different email at checkout.

The new address was then automatically populated in the dashboard, which having never used that address before, it wasn't verified. I then switched it back to the EF address and verified it and everything is fine.

I'm thinking maybe some users used one account during the sign up process but might be entering a different email address at checkout. Until the email is verified, alerts won't be sent.

I'll have the developers look into it.

Re: Comment Deletion

Some of that is going to be reworked into a new layout. If the suggestions Gary and I made are implemented, there won't be a need for this.

There is no such thing as an expert in sex-related anything except for gynecology and urology, but we can certainly try to get more informational-based material for everyone.

I get the email verification error frequently. I thought maybe it was a cookies/privacy setting thing. It happens randomly here and there, but not consistently and I use 4 different computers, plus my phone for Eden.

I'd like to see more stuff in stock! At least the popular stuff. Things are in stock one day and gone within a week frequently. Surely the warehouse is bigger than a garage?

More/better Men's underwear please. The stuff is mostly boring.

I caution that "popular" is a matter of perception in this case. If it's out of stock and not being restocked there's a pretty good reason behind it. Inventory isn't based on the size of our warehouse, it's based on sales figures and a whooooole bunch of other stuff. Your reviews of said items are also taken into account.
