Baking with Oreos...

Contributor: Kristi :) Kristi :)
Has anyone ever baked Oreos into something, like a cookie or a brownie recipe? Does the texture of the oreo change, like does the cookie get soft or soggy?

I've used Oreos to make pie crusts. Mashing the Oreoes makes the cookies softer. I also ate some deep-fried Oreos yesterday.

I make these every year at Christmas time, and everyone loves them:

crush a whole package of Oreos (best in the food processor)
mix it with one package of softened plain cream cheese
roll mix into 1 inch balls, place on cookie sheet and put in the freezer
melt cooking chocolate (you'll need around a full package)
then cover the balls in chocolate and put them in the freezer until hardened

they are super easy and don't take too long to make. If you like the mint chocolate, try getting a package of mint Oreos!

Hope you like them

I've tried out this recipe before and it turned out pretty good. I might try and use some different flavored oreos next time I get the chance.

UPDATE!!!! I made the Oreo Truffle Brownies and also the Oreo Truffles!! Kinda did a two in one...

I made the brownie base from the brownies SilverVines posted. Then I did the Oreo and cream cheese amounts from MilitaryLove with chocolate Oreos. For the topping I did melted chocolate mixed with a touch of butter so it wouldn't totally harden up. Sprinkled crushed Oreos over the top... and...... Was really good!!! :-D Brownies were kinda cake kinda chewy; nice texture. The Oreos added a nice sweetness! And the chocolate ontop made over the top good!!!!!

Thank you both for sharing recipes!!! *hugs*

A bit.

I have a friend who gets cupcake holders, then fills it with a little cupcake mix, then an oreo cookie over that, then more cupcake mix over that.

I haven't actually eaten one, but supposedly they're tasty

That does sound good!!

I was thinking of making chocolate chip cookies and instead of using chocolate chips, use cut up Oreos. I was wondering how the texture would change once it bakes.

The oreo cake balls are especially delicious when you use the mint cream oreos and drizzle the tops of the finished product with melted andes mints.

I have never baked with oreos, but I like to crush them up and add whipped topping to make oreo fluff. Delicious stuff. . .
