For some reason when I originally posted this poll, only a few selections made it onto the page. So, I am redoing it! (Stormy kindly offered to remove the flawed one.)

The meat can be beef, buffalo, moose, elk, etc. - wherever you eat it or whatever the source you use. If you need to specify, then please do so in your comments. I made it multiple choice just in case

Pork, chicken, other poultry & bear are supposed to be eaten thoroughly cooked! So, I am not including them, although you certainly may address them in your comments. Also, ground meat should be well cooked due to the inherent dangers of that process.

I also know I have missed some which is what the "other" option is for, as well as the comments.

Medium, over a hot fire. Then it needs to rest for 5 minutes to finish cooking to medium well.

As with all your topics, you do an exemplary thoughtful job. In fact it’s difficult finding posts like yours, particularly as of late. Others who post discussions would do well to emulate you.

I'm more of a medium/medium well. I don't mind pink, but anything too bloody is not appetizing at all. That said, I don't mind an occasional cannibal sandwich, if it's prepped right.

Medium or medium-well. My mom used to cook the hell out of our steaks (and still does) because she was worried that we would catch something and get sick. Mad cow disease was a scare for a while, but even before and long after that. I prefer it a bit less cooked than well done. If I go out to eat now, I don't want my steak cooked to the point that it's leathery.

Medium-rare for me especially at a restaurant, it gives lee-way for addtional cooking if needed. Ordering medium is usually to tough and tasteless for me.

Burgers I always need cooked all the way through, but when it comes to steak, I just want the outside cooked

I love my beef, caribou, whale, seal cut right off the animal and eaten. I know, most think it gross, but this is a consequence of living in the arctic. Not to mention raw fish. Mmmm.... delicious!!!!!

All other meat, I cook only as long as I have to cook it to make sure that things are safe.
