My mom and I had this discussion with my husband this weekend do you wait for your cookies to cool out of the oven and harden or just eat them?

I've never been the kind of girl to wait for cookies to harden after coming out of the oven. My husband and mom prefer to wait until they've had a chance to cool a little bit and harden up. Which way do you eat them or does it matter?

I just eat them. I'm bad about not waiting for food to cool.

I'll usually eat one fresh out of the oven and wait for them to cool before I have another.

depends on what type of cookie they are. Most of the different types of cookies I will eat while they are still warm.

I don't wait. As soon as they're cool enough to not burn my fingers I eat them.

both, but I suppose to an extent it also depends on the cookie.

I'm pretty crazy about baking, cooking and cakes especially, and for cookies, I consider being able to bake cookies that harden just enough but don't actually crunch or lose their chew a mild art.

I eat them hot and soft. I don't like hard cookies.

I am bad when it comes to this because I want to take them off as soon as they get out of the oven so they always break on me.

I like them warm and gooey or of course, raw. Who needs to cook a cookie anyway.

I like my cookies chewy, but I make mine with 2/3 all purpose flour and 1/3 glutenous (as in gummy, not full of gluten) rice flour. That way the center stays gooey and the edges stay harder.

I suggest it to everyone. They reheat better that way, too.

What's this cooling you speak of?

I think most baked goods taste different after cooling and even the next day. The way I see it... They should be tasted right away, in case you need to fix something. Taste another or two while slightly cool.. and just to make sure they're good, another when cool. And of course, one more before serving. lol lol

when I make chocolate chip cookies, I usually eat some of the dough when I am making them, then eat one or two while they are all gooey, then wait for the rest to cool. What really matters is how much I have eaten (both food and dough) before the first batch of cookies come out of the oven.

I don't like to eat cookies right out of the oven, but I prefer them to be warm and soft. I try to freeze most of the cookie dough and just bake a few at a time in a toaster oven, so I can enjoy them while they're really warm and fresh.
