30 Day Shred

Day 8 level 1.5...

I noticed today that my students were either not working as hard as usual or they are finding this level much easier to handle.

In either case, I'll be hollering at them to move faster during the cardio tomorrow!!! I think my students love this exercise program for it is the only time they get to yell at me.

How is everyone else finding the program?

Well it is official.

As of Friday, I had to stop the Shred and my yoga class on doctors orders for the next ten or so days. So, my students are still planning to continue but for me, I will just be watching and correcting their movements.

I shall continue posting my results when I pick it back up!!!

Yup! Nothing serious, just a strain on both my knees, probably from my shoes. I bought some Fitflops that we think screwed them up. Only some aching when I squat.

Makes some problems when I have to go to the bathroom!!! (Squatting toilets in China)

I've actually been avoiding the thread because my knee has been too sore for a couple of days now for me to actually do anything with it. I'm unable to do any sort of lifting with it (even standing up has to be done at a turtle pace) and straightening it too quick or turning it at all is currently giving me a great deal of pain. I have been trying to keep away from the thread so that I wouldn't be so cranky with myself for being unable to continue with what I started, but I stumbled across the thread again and wanted to send knee-pain sympathies!

Are all three of us out with knee problems? Damn that Jillian Michaels! I'm taking some time off to strengthen my hips and knees before I try again. Hopefully that will help.

I don't think it was the shred to be honest... The shoes I bought made my feet step funny and I didn't pay attentionto correcting the way I placed my feet.

Update... we've been doing the level two in class and we find it more upper body strength work instead of the lower body as in level one. My knees much prefer level two!!!

Today in class, we are going to do level one AND level two for funsies.

I have noticed a big change in my body, in that I feel less soft and a little more harder.

I think I may jump back in and try again tomorrow. I've been stretching regularly and doing basic calisthenics to try and strengthen my knees and hips. Maybe I can handle it this time!

Try Level Two. Less bouncing on the knees and hips and more upper body strengthening plus some balancing moves that will help.

I find level level two more physically strengthening and requires more concentration on what I am doing than level one. But level one I find to be more cardio based.

Yesterday, we ended up doing just level two, but because of the pressure in the weather, we all decided that it was just going to be too much to do both.
