I still have a cup or two of coffee, I had a headache the first couple of days, probably from the lack of caffiene that my body had gotten used to. It is so much better now though. Sticking to juices and water except for a glass of tea at dinner.

Maybe lessening one of our guilty pleasures? (Soda, sweets, fried foods, fast food, etc.)

Or maybe tracking how many times and how long we engage in healthy alternatives? Like walking instead of driving, stairs instead of elevator, parking further away in a parking lot, standing when we could be sitting, etc.

You also have to be careful with juices, they actually have really high sugar levels as well.

I actually found a gym in my neighborhood that's open 24 hrs a day w/ at least 1 pool through living social daily deals. i got a 1 month trial membership for like 10 bucks. I think i'm going to use it in may - i need to find a new orthopedist for my crap knees before i start any vigorous exercise first, so I can't start it immediately, but mid-may or so should do it, i hope.

On the rare occasions I drink juice, I only buy the 100% fruit juices. Often times the kinds that are combined with veggies to get in an extra serving here or there, but I only drink the 8 oz and only once a day.

Yeah we got low sugar everything. And water is our main focus. I really thought the kids would protest a little more than they did on the soda. They are doing really well. We were going through a 24 pack a day. It was horrible!

Love you hun! I just got the kids to bed! And lit my soy candles for ambiance. My personal goal for this week is to buy a battery for my scale. I haven't weighed myself in like 6 months. Does anybody want to apply for the job of smacking me upside the head every time I go shopping and forget to pick one up?

Not only are most not the juice from actual fruit (and the high sugar level like Kindred said) but fruit doesn't even contain the the amazing nutrients we think they do. They may be a great alternative for kids rather than cookies, chips, and snack bars, but they don't have the vitamins and minerals that veggies do. Fruit itself still has a lot of sugar in it.

I'm impressed with how many people here swim. I just started myself just over a year ago. Or as I like to call it, not drowning for an hour twice a week.

Orange juice has more sugar than chocolate milk.

What about a walking challenge? We walk everywhere because, well, I dont drive. But when I tell people where we walk they look at me like i have 2 heads. People are so dependent on vehicles they forget to walk.

how about something crazy like 3 (minimum) 20 min walks this week

Great tips! Also, I water down my juices when I do decide to partake in them. It makes the expensive juice last longer, I get more water in my diet, and there's portionally less sugar.

I can do that. Would probably help when you can see what is going in your body on a daily basis.
