There are also a couple of these (Alli included) that are currently under investigation by the FDA. Although they gave it their blessing first... just be careful if that's the route you choose to go. Personally, I would choose a more vitamin based regime (vit B complex and fish oil are good for heart and metabolism). but be careful about overdose there too... All in moderation!

Very GOOD idea Dustedtwin!

A positive benefit of exercise is INCREASED sexual drive! WOO HOO! I know that when I'm exercising regularly, I want it more... AND... I'm more flexible!

I think having a small glass/bottle is more effective than having a huge one with you. less pressure to finish it AND you get extra exercise when you have to refill it.

Definitely. :p

Those commercials for Alli, the ones that talk about how it 'helps' your body cut it's fat intake. That's how it does it.

I have not but should, I read and actually knew someone that would drink warm water with a twist of lemon juice before every meal. Years ago it was a like a hollywood diet secret. I also red how it should be done as soon as you wake up. Will

I gave up on soda years ago only have it once in a blue moon like if at a kids party or at the movies. But I have always added water to my juices. I find that juices are too sweet and water itself to plain.

Yup! It just prevents your body from absorbing excess fat in your diet.

Though I think that's what motivates you to not eat unhealthy food. Unhealthy food + Alli or similar pill = oily farts. LOL

Actually drinking COLD water burns calories. It causes your body to physically warm the water to process it through your body.

That is true, I think I got the big one so I would have to refill it but yeah small one is less pressure and will get me moving more to refill it. Thanks sweetie

Moderation, that seems to be the key in all things good and healthy. Alcohol is good, in moderation. Coffee is good, in moderation. Plus we all need lots of different nutrients/minerals for our body's to work right. If we only partake of a little bit of each one, we will be better in the end.

Cold water is so much yummier to drink too. I'm really guilty of not drinking the amount of water that I should.

That's it for tonight

Our goal this month is increasing our water intake. And we're going to be meeting here on the last Wednesday of the month at 8 p.m. EST. If that changes, it will be announced. It's a great start. There's lots of potential here! I'm excited to see how we progress in healthier habits!

I didn't know it was under investigation. They tout it as the only nonprescription pill approved by the FDA. Very interesting.

In my opinion, pills are a waste. They're expensive and the effects are short term and don't last. I'd rather invest that extra cash in vitamins, better food, exercise equipment and products that make it easier for me to live a healthier lifestyle.

Like a pill box for my vitamins! I always forget to take them. I might have to make that my goal for the month, since I do the sleep and water one already.

I find this very true EXCEPT when I'm exercising. I love having my giant water bottle with me at the gym - and I usually finish all 40oz of it there, too.

I never knew cold water was better. I prefer room temperature unless I am really hot.

Good point, sarahbear. If you eat the right foods and a good variety, you should be able to provide your body with all the proper nutrients to keep yourself functioning properly!

I got one at the Dollar Tree. It's got Fish Oil for my heart, metabolism, and concentration levels. It has Ginseng for brain function. A B Complex. And St. John's Wort for mood/depression.

Eventually I plan on investing in 5-HTP which is the WONDER SUPPLEMENT for mental/psychological issues, but it's pricey.

I would like to suggest drinking tap water, as long as yours is good. There is lots of good minerals in tap water that you can not get in purified bottle water. It is good for the environment as well.

Weight gain and low self esteem go hand in hand. Even when I first started gaining weight, I didn't mind all that much. I still felt beautiful and sexy and I bought clothes that helped with that. Now I've gotten to the sizes that are hard to find nice clothes in and like I said before, I can no longer "hide" the weight. Even in the best clothes I can find to accentuate my body, I end up looking in the mirror and cringing. So most of the time, I sit around the house in pajama pants and t shirts and pull my hair back.

Me too! I went back to the gym Monday (tomorrow I'm going back again) and I always sweat up a storm. I love water. I love the gym too. I wish I got around to it more.
