Last Monday (9/12/2011) the Eden Lit Club met and discussed our book project.
These questions have been answered:
*Will consenting to be in the book mean the authors no longer own the rights to the stories/poems ect.?
Open / non-exculsive deal. The author is always the author. They are granting us the right to publish in the book, EdenFantasys does not hold any exlusive rights.
*How will we be representing the authors? With a short blurb written by them or some other means?
This is up to the club: The club members feel most comfortable with a 1-2 line short bio included at the end of the book.
*Will we be compensating the authors in any way other than the joy of seeing their work in writing?
Each included author will get a few copies of the books (# to be determined based on number of contributor and number pressed).
These decisions were made as well:
*We are closing the open submission call on October 31, 2011. This means that if you wish to send in stories, poems, or other literary work to be considered for the book it must be in to my email (airenwolf at yahoo.com) by this date. All work sent to my persona email should be based on past Month's topics and not our current topics.
*October will be the last Month that will be considered for the book as the voting process will begin in November. All submissions on the October topics should be set to Rayne (Rayne at EdenFantasys.com) as usual.
*Everything submitted to Eden Lit from it's first Month (January 2011) to this current Month (October 2011) will be considered for the book.
During the October meeting (10/10/2011 at 7pm est) we will discuss how we will handle voting and such so be sure to be there!
