I would love for someone else to do the story start! It needs to be at least two paragraphs but better if it's three. It needs to allow for creative expression but be pointed enough to form a good start. It can be about just about anything. I'm willing to throw some points at the author of the story start as well

I can do that, no problem. I really need to get back in the habit of writing, now that my lap isn't covered in kids.

Right, I felt like she wanted to deliver the message "fuck everyone you can for all of the experience you can" but she failed miserably in getting the point across.

And I so want to blame it on her editor and publisher.

Hmmmmm I tell you what I'll write this Month's story start because I need to get the meeting recap up by tonight but message me a story start for December and we'll use that one next month? Something festive or even totally Summery for a warm in December type story....whatever you want!

Aww. My oldest, when he was a toddler, was terrified of monsters. I took a piece of old costume jewelry and hung it in his room and said, "See this? If any monster sees this, they'll know you have a mommy. Monsters are scared of mommies, so they'll leave you alone." Telling him they didn't exist wasn't working.
