Yeah. When they first started, hubby rushed me to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. I wasn't, of course. That would have been easy to diagnose.

We'd only need to do it two months now, to get ahead.

3. November Chill
4. Gratitude
1. Last Chances
2. pilgrimage

Last Chances

There can be only two! (highlander reference LOL)
I like the idea of pilgrimage and gratitude. They definitely both fit November.

For December, last chances sounds good. End of the year and all that. And maybe "gifts" for the other December topic. Not just physical gifts, but gifts of care/affection, and even gifts in the sense of being "gifted"/talented in some way.

Impressive. I don't have that much published (yet - have a book due to be published at some point) and some stuff here and there online and in at least one anthology and I know exactly how you feel. I think I could be tom clancy and I'd still get nervous submitting stuff to my publisher & editor (in clancy's case, that is - for me, to little literary journals and stuff, lol).

Ok I'll post the assigments and make sure everyone understands we are choosing two Months of topics OR I can post the assignments as usual and then at the deadline for Nov. I can post the topics for December. I am favoring the second idea really, I think it'll cause less confusion.

Are you suggesting that I "go into the light"?

Then at the Dec. meeting we can choose Jan and Feb topics. This should help get around the two week time frame.

Yeah, the second idea probably would be better.

I like Ivy Wilde's idea of Gifts for December though.

I hate to a) sound bitchy and, idk, what have and b) point out the obvious, but have you or your dr.s considered panic attacks?

That could be part of the gratitude theme....being grateful for the gifts one has received. Just a suggestion

Im still no where near where I want to be. Plus my editing skills are awful. I really would like to get just one good company under my belt and release a book of poetry and then maybe I would feel better...but then I still wouldn't be happy probably lol....I think I discourage myself. A friend of mine had to remind me what I have done when I was going through my, "everything i write is crap" mode. I figure when I can just sit home and write solely for a living then I would be fine. Then again what writer doesn't go through the torture...then what would I write about...lol

me too... i have generalized anxiety disorder with frequent severe panic attacks, which is why i thought of it. many a person has gone to the hospital literally thinking they were having a heart attack to later find out it was just severe panic attack.

We need to move to the book project discussion before we run out of time!
Our deadline for book submissions is rapidly approaching and we need to be thinking about how were going to organize our chapters for the book.
We've already decided that the Monthly topics will be our themes and we have 9 months of topics to choose from. What do you guys think would be a good number of chapters for our book and should we decide the chapters based on the amount of work submitted on those topics?

Yes. I do have a history of panic attacks. However, in this case, my heart rate and blood pressure and respiration are EXTREMELY low. (The monitors at the hospitals kept beeping because they were so low they were in the "someone needs to notice this" range) When I have panic attacks, they all go up, not down. Plus, this simply feels VERY DIFFERENT from my panic attacks. I am very familiar with those and know what they feel like.

I think the submissions might determine the chapters. But also what about separating the chapters by topics or topic months...

That would be great we know the open topic will be one of the chapters, we just have to choose the other 11 or so!
