My (self-installed) nanny software is about to shut down the browser to force me to go to bed. It was good being here for part of the meeting.

Brilliant idea

Ok so we've gt our November topics and December topics. We've realized that we need to compile the submissions we have to better decide on how the book will flow. We will keep the polls short and sweet to get more community participation. We have a new twitter page...wow we got a lot accomplished this meeting!

I haven't exactly been following, but how are submissions being determined? Is EVERYTHING ever submitted to Eden Lit up until Oct 31 being considered for the book? Or is/was there some sort of nomination/submission process?

Could people nominate their own or other people's works that they think should be considered for the book? A nomination/submission process could narrow things down to begin with. If there were some way to make it anonymous, that would be good.

Or has all of this already been determined?

I think I'll go ahead and close the meeting for tonight. Unless anyone has anything more they would like to discuss? Questions? Suggestions? ect.?

Yes everything that has been submitted up to Oct. 31 is up for consideration. It's a TON of material but some really good stuff. In the future we'll have less broad topics for our projects, I imagine.

If you've seen Vaccineum's polls you have sort of an idea how we'll do the voting process. The only difference is, hopefully, we can break up the more popular categories so that we don't overwhelm the voters.

I will post the meeting notes, assignments and a wrap up on the eden blog in the next few days. Feel free to visit those forums and give us some feedback. This way it stays a bit more organized than trying to read through 8 pages of posts LOL

That's sort of why I mentioned a nomination/submission process. Start by asking everyone involved in Eden Lit to nominate/submit work(s) out of all the stuff ever published as part of Eden Lit to be included in the book.

You can nominate your own work and/or other people's work. Any work that doesn't get nominated/submitted by someone is eliminated from future consideration for the book.

That will hopefully cut down on the sheer number of possibilities while still giving everyone the chance to include works that they either really liked reading or were really proud of writing.

Once you have the nominations/submission s, then you can break them down into categories for voting by everyone who isn't involved in Eden Lit.

Just an idea.
