Really? Who would have known B&N would have erotica. I am now looking at them differently.

I haven't but I've been waiting to see the reviews on it because I have a few friends that might be interested in it.

I was quite surprised myself, and I can say that they've definitely gotten more of my business since that discovery.

Best Gay Romance 2011 is edited by the wonderful Richard Labonte who has a knack for choosing some of the best stories in gay erotica! This collection includes 13 stories and is different from the usual gay erotica collections because the focus is very much on ROMANCE between men, something I think is often lacking in the genre. The relationships portrayed here vary from sweet and playful to edgy and sexy, but there is always an emotional connection between the characters that transcends, and enhances, the sexual aspects.

In my Barnes & Noble the erotica gets shelved all over the place-- in Fiction Anthologies, regular Fiction, Gay and Lesbian Studies, Relationships/Sex... I am so happy they carry many of the Cleis Press erotica titles (including MINE!), but I wish they'd be more consistent about their shelving of the books!

Ooh, I'll have to see if I just couldn't find them at my store. It is frustrating that they don't seem to know what to do with the erotica. I'd love to be able to browse some books before I buy them, so I still like the convenience of having the physical book in my hands.

Yes, I was disappointed there weren't any reviews of BGR before tonight! It's a lovely book-- and I suppose that since most of our book club participants are women, I should ask the obvious question: do you enjoy reading gay erotica? I do, but then I like anything that's well written with good characterization and plot! Plus... hot boys!!

This one sounds interesting. I love that it looks at the romance side, it is not something usually associated with between men whom are in a relationship.

I have no problem asking if I can't find a particular title!

I remember trying to find a Nancy Friday book I think I finally had to ask someone but I agree with you they do need consider how they shelve their books. I had no idea you wrote and were publish, cool I need to look you up and add your books to my wish list. I tell you on my bucket list is to have a collection of erotic books.

My first anthology was out last July-- Fairy Tale Lust: Erotic Fantasies for Women. My next anthology is due out in May, Dream Lover: Paranormal Tales of Erotic Romance. Then there is Steamlust: Steampunk Erotic Romance (formerly called Corsets and Clockworks-- had to change the title!) due out in the fall and Best Erotic Romance 2012, due out in January, I believe. Since my anthologies are erotic romance, I'd prefer they be shelved in romance where more of the potential reading audience would be able to find them. But FTL ended up in Fiction, Fiction Anthologies AND Romance, all in the same store!

I have never read gay erotica but I am a curious girl and do get turn on by two men being together so I would not have a problem reading it. Just thinking about it is making me think it should be the first erotic book I buy

That's awesome! I think this is a collection you'd really enjoy. Richard is my favorite gay erotica editor. I always enjoy his story selections.
