Why is there a lot of free on the web? It makes me wonder if there is a lot of profit that goes into the media that is shown if you choose not to buy it. Especially with the torrenting that goes on (which is going to be more controlled, but I imagine people will find ways around that), people will do basically to find something of no value to save money. So how do pornographers get paid for their productions if people don't put a price on it most of the time?

I think right now many of the established companies (Wicked, Vivid, Digital Playground) have enough of a loyal, paying audience that they're still making money. Also, many of these companies have had the foresight to cut R-rated versions of their movies to sell to premium cable channels for their late-night line-up, so they have additional revenue streams.

It is true that piracy is a huge problem for all media, but porn really takes it up the ass. No pun intended.
Perhaps the best suggestion for these media outlets is to reconsider exactly what it is they are selling. How they would do that, I don't have the foggiest clue.

They don't to be honest, most of the stuff on tube sites is either amateurs who post it for free or scenes stolen from major productions. The porn industry is really suffering from the lack of funds which is why a lot of girls are creating their own paysites where they keep their content.
