Awwww. The "Vac" part is due to the prickles or thorns, right? (If I remember the Latin from Med Term.) Like "Vaccine?"

I can see your point on those. I think it also depends on how chunky the heel is. I don't normally call something a platform unless the front of the heel is also raised. Pointy heels offer like, no stability, which is why I don't really like wearing them.

I'm not sure what the scientific name means, but huckleberries and the rest are thornless, so that's probably not it.

I agree completely. I have a pair of stilettos I can walk in.. But they have a one inch heel. >.<

From Wikipedia: The name vaccinium was used in classical Latin for a type of berry (probably the bilberry V. myrtillus), but its ultimate derivation is obscure; it is not the same word as vaccinum "of or pertaining to cows".[3]

I'm sure having quick fingers can also be helpful in other areas.....

Oh, I see. But they are in the Rose family. All related. We have blackberries and raspberries around here, they'll getcha if you aren't careful.

Pertaining to cows... LOL! I'm thinking of the thread about "getting the milk for free."

But, also cowpox was used to vaccinate people against Smallpox years ago. Weird, but true.

She's just fine. Now that the rainy season has started again, the lawn is greening up, so she's able to have fresh grass again. She was getting pretty bitchy having only dried grass for the past few months.

M'k all caught up.

Red Vinyl Kitty, how did you like the snow the other day?

Vac, have you got any snow yet?

We got a tease the other day, little balls of snow/ice, just enough to see it on the ground.

I'm afraid to ask how you know when she's bitchy....

It was awesome. Basically, my husband and me sat around in pain from moving boxes all day the night before, and were both just glad he didn't have to go to work. The snow was gorgeous though.

Yup. Cowpox ended up saving tens of millions of lives. Unfortunate that HIV found in other animal groups can't be used in a similar fashion.

Hahahahaha, I'm glad she's enjoying the fresh grass again. Ours is getting ready to die, or whatever it does when it gets blanketed with snow. We won't really get any snow for about another month or so, but the grass likes to prepare itself early lol.

There's snow up in the mountains, but I'm only 200 feet above sea level here, so it takes some really bad weather to get cold enough for snow. I was hiking in snow in the Canadian Rockies a month ago, and I'll be doing the same in the Cascades next week.

Let's just say she's not nearly as kind a mistress when she's in a bad mood.

Just so you all know, we're getting close to quitting time. Our fantabulous reviewers are of course welcome to stay and answer questions, but we should probably start wrapping up in the next few minutes to make sure they have time to answer all the ones that have already been asked.

What fun, I miss the mountains when it snows, so awesome to just look at. Even better being in them.

Yeah, the type of HIV found in Chimpanzees not only isn't transmutable to humans, but it doesn't cause as severe symptoms in chimps. The type found in small monkeys is transmittable, but not useable. So sad. So, it's no go in that arena so far. How strange that some diseases are found in the animal kingdom and we can harness them often without hurting the animals at all and others are specific to humans.

Hard to pass up the Luvin' Lamb. What a tremendous product.

My favorite review of someone else's is Antipova's old-time saloon outfit. DAMN! The favorite review of mine I've written is the one where my penis wrote the review (Sliquid Sassy Booty Gel)
