I cooked a fair amount when I was in high school (trying fruitlessly to impress the ladies, yanno), but it was all out of a cookbook. The creativity in cooking only developed as an adult.

Mainly RPGs like Oblivion or Fallout 3. I do love classic retro games like Mario and Frogger though. We have a Wii, an Xbox 360, and each have a Nintendo D/s too. Oddly, I never liked video games too much (outside of Mario) until I met my husband, who loves them. I kind of grew into them.

Heck, we're even planning on going to the midnight release of Skyrim next week. We are total geeks.

What kind of camera do you use most often? Also, do you miss film? I miss real B&W film so hard....

Some shows are boring. I find it boring when people hand me a script basically, and tell me word for word what to say. On the one hand, they get exactly what they want, but on the other hand - there is no creativity involved. Outside of those shows, I really love what I do!

Hmmm... That's a tough one. There's no one dish I like the most. As for a meal, I enjoy cooking Thanksgiving dinner the most. It's a load of work, but the whole process means a lot to me for nostalgic reasons. As for a type of food, that would be something Caribbean or Brazilian. I love cooking with the sweet, savory, and hot ingredients inherent in those cuisines.

What's your specialty? Any particular dish you're known for? (Why are we talking about food when I'm already hungry?)

Thanks P'Gell! I absolutely love working on my blog. It is fun to write, and it's fun to look back on everything that's been going on too. (For the most part).

Do you cook using recipes, or mainly cook as you go?

I use a Canon 5D currently. I really don't miss film at all. I used to shoot with it and develop it, but I can get so much more out of my photos now by tweaking them with software. I don't like depending on the camera or lens manufacturer to get things perfect, and software helps me more readily duplicate what I saw at the time and be able to express the mood and drama of the scene.

It's like getting to know someone in a way. Your blog is written the way you seem to speak and it makes it sweet and personal. I love to see where people live, the insides of their houses (I hope that didn't sound creepy) as it gives me an idea that that person on the other CRT is a real person and has stuff and a life and feelings etc.

I was telling my husband about your perch on your balcony, he said it sounded lovely. Do you have a nice view at the new place?

That's a good way of looking at it. I used to enlarge my own B&W film/prints in college and High School, so I do miss it some. Although digital is so much more convenient, and less expensive.

I'm not sure I have a specialty. I never make the same thing quite the same way twice, so it's tough for anyone to really develop a strong like for an particular dish. As I said with Sam's question, I suppose Caribbean and Brazilian cooking would be what I'm most known for, and that's mostly because it is so uncommon for people in most part of the U.S. to experience that kind of cooking.

I cook as I go. I'll look at recipes for ideas, but cooking from a recipe is like having sex following "The Joy of Sex". Sure, it can be good, but it can be sooooo much better if you experiment.

I don't think that's creepy at all! I think you can tell a lot about a person by seeing where they live.

We have an awesome view here.. Out one window. *giggle* One window shows cows or deer, depending on which meandered over to that side of the hill, the other windows show us the parking lot.

The town we moved to is absolutely surrounded by mountains though! It is absolutely gorgeous, and we love it here. It's not very populated, but still pretty close to the city.

You know what, I'm the same way. I love seeing what makes a person a real person and being able to see what goes on in their life makes them all the more real and easy to connect to.

In my life? I'd have taken the opportunities I had to go to Belize that I passed up in college and pushed harder to do research in Brazil when I was in grad school. I'll never get those chances again.

I would not change a thing.

Everything that happened in the past brought us here, and made us who we are. If you change any of that, it might change the outcome of who we are. I really love where I am, even if I don't like some of the things that happened to me along the way. They were all worth it to get to this point.

Oh... mountains! I'm so glad you have a nice place for your perch. (I'm glad you understand my innocent interest in people's homes. It just gives things a personal touch.)

I envy your style! I have never been able to cook anything without a recipe. Nothing. Can't even make tea if you don't give me exact directions. I have always envied those who could cook as they went. My mom is like that. Just throws things into a pot, and they somehow work!

I know. I was checking out Alice's place in her last video. So weird, but it allows me to understand the people I know here better, too.

I understand the draw of film, and I have absolutely no issues with people using film, as it still provides just good (if not better) results as digital. It is fun to see everything go from taking the photo to processing it be totally in your hands.

Yeah, in our old town, we would even see mountains if we were going to the grocery store. Now we see them no matter if we're on the porch. Gorgeous. Although, from the house they're much harder to see than if you were even in your car on the street in front of our apartment complex.

Thanks!

Just like anything else, if you are afraid to fail, then you'll never succeed. My failures have decreased over time, but I still make plenty of them.

It's getting harder and harder to find film and get good processing anymore. They use a color process for B&W film now, if you can even find the film. Also the prints have a green cast that I don't like.

I'm pretty much converted to digital all the way by now anyway.

I truly would not work, and neither would Master - and I would just serve him all the time. I know that's not possible... But, a kitty girl can dream!
