I use waterbased lubes only since I have so many silicone toys & I don't want to risk damage to them by using silicone lube.

First off, I have no sexual partners, so I only need the lube for masturbating with or without toys. As someone on medication that dries me out and also as a very sensitive, allergic person, I have had a heck of a time finding lubes I can use (I'm also 46, so I could be slowing down naturally in lube production). For now, I first check the ingredients, of course and I find new ones ingredients I am allergic to every day it seems.

I prefer the feel of water-based lubes because they feel most like my natural lubrication. However, I have a problem with the lube drying too fast on the outer parts of me and inside, especially if I am playing for extended periods of time as I like to do. This is why I tried silicone lubes and I like them for their short list of ingredients to which I am usually not allergic and long lasting slipperiness. However, they don't provide enough 'cushion' for me between a toy and my tissues like a water-based seems to - that's the best way I can describe it. I would find myself using more and more, but rather than help, it would just spread out all over my thighs and run down my butt, etc., but not help enough with the friction. Then problem with them is the worry of reactions with my silicone toys.

So, I tried hybrid lubes and they help a lot with the drying down too fast issue and so far I haven't had them react to my silicone toys (I always spot test first). But I have yet to find a hybrid lube that I don't react to one of the ingredients. So, for now, I am stuck using a water-based to which I experiment mixing small amounts of silicone lube. OR, I use coconut oil which, other than it getting all over, is an excellent lube. I'm still in the experimenting stages *sigh*

let me add, I only need to use lube for actual penetration since I'm so tight, even though I'm always wet. that's for both a penis & a toy.
