Do the pros of click and charge vibrators outweigh the cons?

Contributor: scaredlittleboy scaredlittleboy
I love the idea of click and charge vibrators and I love mine, but they do have a couple drawbacks.
It appealed to me because I don't like having to buy batteries or deal with replacing batteries. Also, I like not having to worry about it not being completely waterproof into the battery compartment, or having to take out batteries when I clean it.
However, it'd be better if the charger would be more stable. If I have it charging on my bed, a slight shift can make the charger rotate on the curved base and stop the charging. That's annoying. I also wish there was a clear readout of the current charge, which I realize could be difficult to do and maintain a sleek design.
Also, I was reading the packaging, and noticed that it says that it will wear out and be unable to charge at some point. And it says that you won't be able to replace any parts of it. So once the rechargeable battery/motor/whatever runs out, you have to toss out a perfectly good toy. I wonder when mine'll wear out, if I'll get a good life out of it before it's gone.

Yes, the click and charge vibrators are overall great.

No, the click and charge is still too flawed.

Click and charge toys are, by far, the most annoying things I've ever had to deal with ever.

Not because the toys aren't nice--but because I really hate the click and charge system to the point where I will not buy a toy that uses the system anymore.

I love rechargeable toys because I don't have to buy as many batteries. The click 'n charge feature can be annoying because it has to line up right.

Yeah, the charger is really unstable with the one I just bought but I love the idea of no batteries.

I love mine, it is a bit tricky, but if I trail the cord off the nightstand and put the Delight on the edge it works great. When it wears out, I will have a great dildo.

I think the click and charge system is really cool. Its so nice not having battery powered vibrators. They just are too weak and too expensive (in terms of batteries) in the long run to be worth the money.

I love Fun Factory... but the click n' charge technology is so bleeding annoying!!!!

BUT that being said, I love the way the back part of the handles are flat with no ridges.

Annoying or not, rechargeable is the way to go!

I agree with Sara, rechargeable saves more in the long run and is better.

I love them! No opening for water to get in, fairly strong vibrations, no needing to keep a billion batteries handy, and when fully charged they easily outlast me. And the fact that the chargers work on all click n' charge toys is super convenient.

The click n' charge is a little annoying, but I've never had too much trouble with it. I think if they did a little fine-tuning with the charger (maybe adjust the shape a little bit?), it would be perfect.

Click and charge is awesome, but i would love it if you had the option to put batteries in just in case the power ran out.

No, I don't think it's worth it. I didn't think it would be a big deal but that really annoyed me. I wouldn't buy another one, because the toy itself didn't satisfy me at all

I think it is worth it for a rechargeable toy that is fairly strong, waterproof, cute and can be used internally without vibrations after it dies.

I can charge my g4 tiger just fine. Once I get it lined up right it stays just like that, and charges fine. Now I have the mini vibe spring, and it is more trouble. I discovered the angle of the charging disk is important. What I do is put the vibe inside an empty TP roll and stand it up. That keeps the vibe still and the disk horizontal on top of the vibe. Then it charges beautifuly! Both of these vibes are so good that they are worth the effort it takes to charge them IMO!

I like not having to but batteries. It's also nice that the toy is completely waterproof.

i love fun factory. the charging is the only issue and as log as you make sure its really supported or check it every hour or so its not that bad. the fact that they are flexible, not rigid but not overly flexible, come in small versions and larger versions, rumble and buzz, cost less than other luxury vibes and have so many different shapes to choose from far outweigh the charging issue. BESIDES they have a 1 year warranty! think of how many orgasms you can get in a year!!!!!

I have the Cobra Libre which has the click and charge, and sometimes it's hit or miss. While I like the idea of not having to go through batteries, the click and charge device doesn't always seem to "line up" right, and when that happens, you aren't getting any charge. Personally, I like toys that take regular batteries, so I can use rechargeables. That way I can recharge them and swap them out into other toys that take the same size.

The charger is driving me insane, butt it is still so much better than using batteries. I hope more toy makers will be switching to rechargables in the future.

I have had issue with the click n charge cord shifting, so the toy sits for hours without charging.

Personally, I'd rather have removable and replaceable batteries. At some point the internal rechargeable batteries will no longer hold a charge rendering the toys useless. How can this be good for the environment?
