#AskEden - O2 Adam: tear/hole near base

Contributor: Aristothenes Aristothenes
I recently got the Adam O2. The form, texture and feel really surpassed my expectations. It's really a great dildo, not too soft to stimulate effectively, but also really realistic and flexable.

But sadly while cleaning it I noticed a crack/tear/opening in the soft outer layer of the silicone near the base. It seems be located in the area where the soft shaft silicone and the harder base silicone come together.

I'm not sure if this opening formed after the first (and only so far) usage or was there from the start. But I'm a little concerned that it might widen over time and that the crevice will prove to be a hard to clean area that can't be disinfected.

See the attached video how this tear looks up close.

Did anybody else come across such a problem as well? I'm interested to hear your thoughts about what this might mean for the life expectancy of the toy and the hygiene aspect.

The problem with tears is that have a habit of growing. Any time you place any tension on that area it's just going to widen.

It's clearly a manufacturing fault, as the material wouldn't just spontaneously split like that after normal usage, so I'd return it for a replacement.

Oh no!

I'm sorry you got a defective product. It's EF policy not to host reviews on defective products, so the video was taken down. I did get in contact with Aristothenes to see what we could do about this.

If anyone ever gets a damaged or defective product, please contact Partners@EdenFantasys. com (assignments) or send a Support Ticket (order) and we'll do our best to remedy the situation.

I'm sorry that the video was apparently classified as a video review, that was never my intention. I just wanted to demonstrate the spot on the toy and saw no possibility to directly add a picture here.

The consentus here seems to be that this might really be a manufacturing defect and clearly not the norm for this toy. I will take the issue up directly with the vendor - which, I also want to make clear, for this toy was not EdenFantasys. As of today and with dozens of ordered and delivered items from this store I have never had any problems or defects, and apart from my Adam also no problems with any Tantus items, which I think really speaks for their quality.
