We discussed this concept and I like it in theory. My concern is that people will not follow it. For example, Kristi ad posted a similar thread, yet people continued to post questions on the forums that were more appropriately directed to EF staff. My interpretation is either:

1) they didn't know better, either because they are new or are more experienced but simply forgot. How do we make this available so it becomes a resource that is actually used? Constantly reminding people defeats the purpose for having this thread and demonstrates that it is not accessible.

or 2) people don't care and post anyway because they earn points and there are no repercussions to their actions. So this would be the "I know better but I'm getting my points anyway" group. How do we stop this group from continuing to do this despite knowing better?

Rules are great, but useless if people don't follow them. And currently, there is no incentive for people to follow the rules and plenty of incentive to violate them. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a great idea. The issue is implementation and enforcement. less

I admit, I was one of the posters. I was on a forum mode and was way the heck over my points but was having fun. I forgot to reference this until way afterward and then kicked myself in the butt. Really hard, but you can do it again, I deserve it.......bending over, waiting for the kick. less

So, I now have a suggestion for this thread. Could this be placed at the top of the categories? My thinking is it would be seen first before any of the other ones. Might make it more noticeable rather than buried in the Updates and Feedback section. less
