Pinterest won't allow posts that have toys in them?! Anyone else had an issue?

Contributor: K101 K101
I've been getting these notifications starting today, via email from Pinterest saying they've been taking down my pins because mine had what they called "nudity" in them. Thing is, I have never, ever posted anything even remotely close to nudity on any of the sites I use, including Pinterest.

So in the emails, they give you a link to the photo they have taken down (the photo you pinned) and in my case, the photos that they took down because they say it contained "nudity" was all vibrators! Not any speck of nudity!

You know how when Eden does the contests where you can enter to win things & to get extra entries you can do things like share the giveaway on Facebook, Twitter, etc. or share the photo of the toy on Pinterest? Well, that is why the vibrator photos ended up being pinned by me.

To just be exact here, the photos were all of Picobong vibrators. No nudity whatsoever! Here is a link to one of the photos that was removed due to having "nudity" in it: link

As you can see, there's no nudity & this is the same with the other Pins -- they're just photos of the toy!

So, my question is, have any of you had Pinterest remove your Eden posts like this? I had no idea it was against the rules, especially since Pinterest allows actual nudity (I've seen it!) But no vibrators?

Hmm.. I've never had this issue. Maybe someone is reporting your pins as inappropriate? I'm really not sure.

They removed a photo of a guy modelling a jockstrap from one of my boards, along with an image of a man from an A&F catalogue, citing 'nudity.' I've never had any problems with the toys I post, but it's all pretty stupid if you ask me.

The more I learn about various social netorking sites they more they remind me of the censorship here in China.

I'd say ask them.

One of mine was removed yesterday as well. That was just of a vibrator too - that same Picobong one.

Mine were removed last night too. It's frustrating. I wonder how this will affect the Pinterest Wishlist contests.

We're really sorry to hear that your pins have been taken down. That's no fun at all. We will definitely be working around this a bit for the contests. We really love them, and are always happy to see how much you guys enjoy them too!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention .

For real! I just don't understand why they categorized my photos as "with nudity" when there was nothing of the sort in there.

WomanChina -- I asked them earlier, but still no response. I figured there'd be others here who had it happen to them as well, but I guess not. Not with the toys anyways.

AliMac & LilDrummerGirl-- Aha! So I'm not the only one! Oh. Same pic too? Dang! I guess they're on a roll. Question: will it stop you from pinning photos of the toys during EF giveaways? At the moment, I'm really not sure if I should pin during the giveaways (for the entries) anymore. Hard to decide. I don't want to offend anyone, but the vibrators really don't seem like they could be offensive, even when you consider that everyone has a different opinion, but people don't really "follow" me, I don't think and if they do, it's likely adults, so I just don't see a big problem with the toys being pinned. I mean, pornography or something like that, understandable. I don't want to offend people, but I just don't see a vibrator as offensive to any eyes besides a child! Can't figure out if I should just avoid doing that type of thing again or not.. I mean, I see shit loads of nudity on there & I'd rather not, but they freak out of people posting vibes?!

Thanks, Carrie Anne for making note of this. I hate to see us not be able to share things like toys on our Pinterests, but I guess there's always other networking sites. Still, I liked the pinning! Lol.
