Call your post office and tell them that if you aren't home then you want them to take the package with them and you can pick it up at the post office when you are available. We had to do that with stuff sent to my fiance's house because TWICE someone stole our stuff from Eden as well as some expensive car parts.

But I'd still take Stormy's advice. But if you have a package on its way, def. call the post office and tell them not to leave it. less

Maybe customer service can help you out, but isn't the "remote domestic locations" issue something that UPS decides? I remember Ryuson's thread about the horrors of shipping to New Mexico. I never realized that any of the lower-48 were treated like that by shipping companies… less

I'm located in upstate NY, and now I'm finding I'm having trouble getting UPS shipping.

I just placed a very large order, which should've qualified for the free 3 day shipping (it was well over $79 -- in fact, it was over $200). But... when I went to put my address in, a box popped up, telling me that Eden ships to "remote domestic locations with USPS priority" -- and it wouldn't allow me to select anything but priority.

Reluctantly, I settled for priority, but I'm not very happy about it. UPS was PERFECT for me, as the UPS truck always comes around the time that I get out of work -- so I'm usually there to greet the UPS man. With USPS priority, my package ends up sitting on my front porch for several hours while I'm at work. Not a huge deal, but ... honestly, if I can't use UPS anymore, I'll probably stop ordering as much, because I don't care for USPS at all. My USPS mailman is incredibly shady... and again, I just hate leaving my packages out for that long, especially as my orders tend to be quite expensive.

I just don't understand why I'm suddenly not allowed to use UPS. I even tried paying for next day shipping, only to find that...nope, I'm not allowed. Weird, because I've placed a TON of orders lately, and all of those were able to be delivered by UPS. I know that UPS is still delivering orders to my neighborhood, as I just received a package from UPS today... so, I just can't figure out the reasoning for this. less

I wrote to support and they said that its ups and usps that determines the shipping and I have always used the free shipping. In fact I got a ups delivery the same day that it told me I cant get UPS. Today, for the fun of it before surrendering to the 7.99 shipping I added a new address ( without the 4 digits at the end of the postal code they automatically add) and wheh it came back with a suggested address to correct it, I said no, ship to the one I wrote in, which is my address and it gave me the free shipping. Maybe if you did it that way it will do it for you too. less

Sorry about the shipping hassles--our mailman is very odd and doesn't always deliver the mail or pick up outgoing mail left in the box. I know I prefer using UPS most of the time--even though they come late to my house, around 7-9pm, but still, at least I get it!!! less

I was about to make a similar post. I thought something was wrong with my address, so I changed it, because sometimes we have had problems with RD VS Road, no shit. So I changed it and it worked. However when I went to order again a few weeks later, it came up with the same message even though UPS comes out here all the time, I'm not exactly "Rural" by any means. I thought maybe I was cheating the system the second time, but now I'm not sure. I mean, how can it be right one time, and wrong the next? It's wierd. less
