#EdenPrograms - Review Program - Assigned Reviews (Off-Site)

Contributor: Sammi Sammi
Assigned reviews can only be done by Advanced level contributors. The reviews are assigned to contributors one of three ways; this document explains how to do a standard off-site assigned review.

The assigned review is done on a product that is chosen by you, within the pricing guidelines, and requested through the assignment cart. The administrators may approve or cancel the requested assignment based on whether the product is in your price range (see Pricing Guidelines) and if the product already has reviews. If the product already has reviews, the request is typically not approved unless there is a compelling reason.

An email notification is sent out, letting you know if your assignment request has been accepted or declined. If the request is approved, you must then accept the assignment before it will be shipped to you. Review assignments may be done either on-site or off-site; this choice is made when requesting the product to review. When complete, the review is either submitted to the task market for editing and publishing, or published live when it is submitted, depending on your contributor rank.

Selecting a Product to Review
First, make sure you are signed in to your account. Next, find a product you wish to review; the product must have less than 3 reviews on it currently and be in your price range. Lingerie is different - please see the #EdenPrograms - Review Program - Lingerie Assignments page for more information. You can search for a product by browsing the product pages, or using the Product Search.

Product Search
The product search can help you find a product to review. From your Account Dashboard, click on “Review Program.”

Next, select Product Search.

On the product search page, you can narrow your search for a review product by Category, Manufacturer, Price Range, and Review Status. You can also apply your material preferences. (NOTE: This section will be updated if the search parameters change.)

Select “Without Reviews” for the Review Status and enter your review item price range. The product must have a price in order for you to select it for review. Choose “For Free Assignment and click “Go” to see a list of items to review.

When you find a product that meets your search restraints, click “Request Product for Review.”

This will place the item in your Assignment Cart. Click on “Submit request in assignment cart” to go to your assignment cart and request the product.

You will now see the item in your assignment cart.

Click on “Request Assignment”.

Choose “Free Assignment”, and “Review will be published on my website/blog.” Read the Terms and Conditions, check the box that you agree with them, and Press “Submit”.

You’ll see the Assignment Status change to “Submitted to administrator”, which lets you know your request has been submitted.

Accepting the Assignment
If the administrator accepts your request, you’ll receive an email notification. Log in to your account, select “Review Program”, and then “Assignments”. You will see that the Assignment Status has changed to “Assigned by administrator”.

If you have changed your mind, you can click on “Decline”. Otherwise, click on “Free Order” to begin the acceptance and shipping of your assignment.

Shipping the Assignment
When you click on “Free Order”, you will be taken to the Checkout screen. Select your shipping method, press “Checkout”, and complete the checkout process.

Writing the Review
Once your product has arrived and you’ve tested it out, it’s time to write your review. Login to your account, and click “Review Program” and “Assignments” from your dashboard. You’ll see the item you received in your Assignment list. Click on “Write Review”.

You will be taken to the Offsite Review template, where you can complete your review.

Please remember to fill in all required fields, including: Stars, Vrooms, Bees, review URL, Pros, Cons, and Summary. Select relevant tags that are applicable to your product.

It is important that you do not copy and paste your offsite review content into the fields of the onsite review form. Your onsite review should be unique and expand upon your entire review.

Once you have done this, read over, and spell checked the onsite portion of the review, check which notification options you would like, and click either “Submit to editor” (the button you will see if you are don’t have the minimum rank to publish)

or “Publish” (the button you will see if you are above a 5.5).

You may also choose to save to draft and preview if you plan to make changes later.

If the review has been submitted to an editor, it will be edited and then published; you will receive notification when the on-site portion of the review goes live on the site. Once the review goes live, you can find it on your contributor page, on the product page, and under the product type on the sex toy review page.

Your Blog or Website review content (aka Off-site)
You must complete an honest review of approximately 300 or more words on your blog/site that details the product you’ve selected. This review must contain at least two direct and meaningful links to the EdenFantasys website (link) and/or its products. These links should be a general description of our products and services. Some examples of direct and meaningful links may include, but are not limited to: Sex toy store, adult toy store, vibrators, adult toys, vibrators, sex community, EdenFantasys.

The theme and style of your review remains at your discretion, as long as the product is reviewed accurately and honestly. We urge all users to post the custom widget that is designed specifically based on your onsite review. The widget is available when your onsite review is completed and should be posted as part of your offsite review.

The summary onsite is especially important as it represents the content of your entire review both on and off-site. Rather than repeating what you've already said in your off-site review, give a compelling reason why this item is or isn't worth it. What was fabulous or disappointing? The Summary, Pros and Cons should reflect your overall impression of the item - they stand out in reviews and are influential for readers.

Off-Site general rules
Re-posting
If you are in the Eden Partner Program, feel free to use a partner coded link to post to your review (in addition to a direct link somewhere on your webpage) so you can receive your commission. We encourage everyone (EPP member or not) to post links to their reviews; it's your hard work, and you deserve to show it off. However, do not post the text from the review; posting duplicate content is detrimental to our (and your) web status because it is technologically interpreted as plagiarism - no matter how it is cited. You may post a few sentences leading into the link, such as: "My review of the Snugglepuss is posted on EdenFantasys.com. This toy took me for quite a ride; find out how…" Or "I had a great time playing with my new toy, click here to get the full story." Another way our reviewers have posted "teaser" or intro texts for reviews is by writing two different accounts. The review they submit to us is generalized, more opinionated, and practical. The text posted on their blogs is a more explicit, erotic account of their experience with the toy; containing COMPLETELY different text than the review submitted to EdenFantasys.com. The choice is up to you.

Please do not re-post any part of the text from these reviews on other sites. That also means that you should not post reviews from other sites on EdenFantasys.com. If we find that your review has been reposted, reviews will be taken off our site without hesitation. If assigned reviews are found to be posted elsewhere, we will clarify with the contributor to see whether it was their re-post. In the situation where someone else has plagiarized our contributor's content, we will send a cease and desist letter. If we find it was the contributor who re-posted, we will require that they take down the review, and they will be subject to either downgrading to Basic Level or possibly terminated.

General Blog and Online Profile Linking
If you fill out the URL field in your profile with your personal link(s), your review page and profile will contain links to your blog and/or other personal website. If we are linking your profile (posted on EdenFantasys.com) to a blog or another website of your choosing, we must ask that you show EdenFantasys.com the same courtesy. You must post a link to our site, a direct link (A NON-AFFILIATE LINK), somewhere on your webpage. The anchor text can be anything but "EdenFantasys&quo t; or any other derivation of the company name. You can post as many affiliate links as you want, but there must be at least one direct link.

If you are not HTML savvy, please contact us at partners@edenfantasys. com and we will help you with how to post this link. We do understand that not everyone is at the same computer competency level.

If you feel you are not able to meet with these link specifications, let us know and we will simply remove the link to your personal page from your review page; but we will still continue to post your reviews on the EdenFantasys.com.

How you link to your blog from EdenFantasys
This not a link exchange. However, we do display an attribution link which will direct customers to your blog, where they can read your full review. It requires special handling to assure our website is not damaged with malicious software that could compromise our commerce operations, credit card security compliance procedures, and overall could shut down the website. We encapsulate links into a separate module that won't be able to interfere with the rest of the website.
