Just wondering if you have a preference if orders are shipped via US Postal Service or United Parcel Service?

I prefer USPS. I ordered two books the other day, selected USPS and they were shipped UPS. I was slightly irked. UPS is unpredictable when it comes to where they leave packages and such.

Depends on where obam shipping it. If it ships to my office i go UPS (I sign for packages at my office). Between the two, ultimately "prefer" UPS so I can accurately track my items, but USPS is almost always faster and delivers on Saturday.

Being overseas I don't have a choice. It's snail mail usps. They have dropped to a new low ..... can no longer track my packages. Sigh!

I usually go for "cheapest and fastest" when it comes to shipping packages.

What really burns my cookies though is when I order something UPS and they ship it to my city, only to turn it over to the USPS for delivery! I have had many packages delayed by a day or better for the simple reason that UPS didn't feel like sending a truck out to my house (in the middle of the city and he was out here anyway for someone else)!

As far as FedEx/UPS goes though...they have developed a bad habit of dropping the package at the door and leaving, no doorbell ring, knock on the door, nothing! I especially hate this because I am (always) home and waiting for my stuff to get here!

I prefer cheapest. Here in Canada our rates are so much higher than the USA. I am totally envious of the rates you Americans pay to send something!!!

I prefer UPS. They have awesome tracking and show up at the same time whenever I have stuff delivered. The UPS guy also doesn't mind if I find him around town and ask for my package.

I pick the USPS since they deliver on Saturdays and I know when they show up. Although with how late they've been getting here lately, I may start picking UPS since I believe they get here earlier in the day.

I always pick USPS because UPS doesn't get to my place until at least 4:30. I don't want anyone else receiving my packages because I'm sure my roommates wouldn't think twice before opening them. I like my roommates but they just don't understand the concept of privacy.

I always go with USPS. UPS and FedEx can be unpredictable here at times too, my USPS packages are generally more predictable.

I like UPS tracking, but I do think USPS does a great job, and Saturday delivery at no extra charge is pretty sweet.

However, wasn't there talk about USPS phasing out Saturdays to save money? Is that going to happen?

BTW, I prefer USPS because UPS is been very unreliable for me -they've even delivered things to the wrong address.

UPS will just leave it on my door steps if someone is not home. UPSP will leave it in the locked mail box if it fits, or leave a note for us to come and pick it up at the post office.

UPS has much better tracking that is way more reliable. I've never had any problem with them and the delivery people are super nice! My mailman just comes whenever and just throws my package in front of the door and walks away. >_<
