#SexisSocial - Do you like your body?

Contributor: Silverdrop Silverdrop
Perfection is Overrated is my latest article for #SexisSocial.

Real women come in all sorts: fat and thin, healthy and unhealthy, old and young, cis and trans, and all of us with different outlooks on life. But the one thing we all have in common is that none of us can possibly live up to the idea of "perfection" that is shoved down our throats!

What do you think of your own body? Are you happy living in it?

I have a lot of stretch marks from meds that made me gain weight quickly and from having a baby. Not a fan of them, but I can hide them with clothes so it's okay.

I hate my butt. It's just not a shape I like. If I could change only one thing, that would be it.

I'm about 10 pounds heavier than I'd like to be, but that's something I can work on so I'm not all that concerned about it.

yuck I hate my body...After a short battle with cancer, and now I am diabetic and have a heart condition. I can not get out from under the extra weight and I hate every bit of it. Diets are rough on me because I am diabetic ( I have low sugar so restricting my carbs can be a disaster, diet drinks/sugars and foods pretty much anything with artificial sweetener in it causes a low sugar for me) I am not happy at all with the way I look and am currently trying to change it

I love my body and am trying to eat healthier and work out more so that I'm even more elated with it. I have imperfections but who doesn't?

I have been writing the out of the box series in sexis. I almost died a few years back. My body is not perfect. My childhood was not supportive. I grew up hating myself. Not looking in a mirror. But I have learned time is short so I am learning to love my body stretch marks and all. The huge scar on my back. Even my face which I think need to be replaced. But I am at a point I can look at myself. I feel I am getting to know myself and I am learning to love myself. I may work out, eat right that helps inside and out. But I will always have the same this body so learning to love it is the only thing I can do.

That's wonderful, Jc Key!

I've come to love my body's appearance, but I do want to lose weight both for health reasons and because I don't want to have to buy more clothes if I gain more weight! I was resenting the stretch marks, till my bf called them "tiger stripes", and that made me feel better about them.

I'm on the journey to loving my body, and slowly but surely, I'm getting there. It's the best tool we'll ever be given, so we should all love parts of ourselves, even if we can't be in love with the whole thing.

I could stand to gain a few pounds but I'm otherwise pretty happy with what I've got going on. Just makes me sad how few women appreciate their bodies.

I wish I wasn't so muscular, but I also need to work out my tummy to get rid of the bit of fat I have building up there. The problem is that when I work out I bulk up, and then I look larger and weigh more... BLARG!

Some days I like my body, though. It's a slow process.

I'm working on loving my body. The one thing I hate are my breast. They are huge. Even when I lose weight, my breast are still huge. The only thing I can do is have a reduction. I'm scared of having my breast mutilated.

I'm out of shape. I'm lazy. I'm working on changing things. I need to lose some weight, and get back to being active.

Oh gosh I am so self conscious.have been as long as I can remember. I hated my image, I avoid mirrors if I could. Need breast implants because of all the changes my body has gone through. I had 2 kids and breastfed both over a year each. I go up and down on my weight a lot. But I have always hated my look. Eden fantasy is helping me find myself a lot better I am so happy I found EF it is really helping me open up and be me instead of hiding. been doing some ab workouts so it helps me feel better about myself. But I have such a scarred child/teen past it is taking a long time for me unfortunately.

Same here. I was put on a low carb diet months ago by my doctor to try and control my hypoglycemia and it's working! A side effect of said diet is shedding the extra fat and water weight I had accumulated, about 25 lbs total. Even when I was 25 lbs heavier I was very happy with my body, aside from my clothes not fitting properly lol.

I am about 40 lbs overweight and not happy about it. My challenge is that I have chronic fatigue, so exercising, let alone meal planning and cooking, is really difficult. I tend to reach for what's convenient which are starches.
