Rachel Kramer Bussel's article on body image hit a point I've been thinking about recently. Many, if not all, of us have probably felt highly self-concious about getting naked in front of another person. But how many of us feel that, as Rachel says, "...it was hot because I knew I wasn’t 100 percent comfortable?"

Sometimes being exposed and vulnerable (mentally or physically) when spending time with someone I am attracted to can be a really exciting thing, leading to heightened sexual arousal. Do you find this to be true for you, or does just the idea of being exposed, in any situation, turn you on? Or.. does being exposed in any situation simply turn you off and make you want to hide under the bed?

I'm definitely an Other.

I've done some exhibitionistic acts with a few past beaus and belles, and it's totally exciting, and it makes me hot, and I loved it. However, since then my body's changed, and I don't think I'd be comfortable with exposing myself now.

That said, I still think the thought is exciting, and if I had a partner that was really into that (my current partner isn't), I wouldn't mind doing it in certain places.

As it stands now, I don't mind my partner seeing me with the lights on, however I find it more sensual to rely on touch and sound than on sight.

While I wouldn't climb on top of a bar and strip naked... I have a stout fervor for public sex, it's not the public nudity that turns me on as much as it is the idea of being watched while having sex in a physical type perspective; by men (usually men) I do not know and will never know.

I cannot tell you the countless number of times I have been slammed on the hood of my car in daylight hours; parked in a parking lot located off the main road (and at a traffic intersection). This parking lot is a bit "out of the way" it is only for those men who carpool/bus-pool to work in a larger city. They show back up at 5 to 5:30. Some ..may.. even know my name.

I wasn't sure which one to choose in the poll, so I went with "other." I've never been naked while physically in front of someone. My nudity has always been on webcam with my online partners. It took me a very long time to get half naked (just my bottom half) on cam for someone and it took me even longer to get completely naked. While I'm still nervous about being naked on cam, I have started enjoying it a lot more, especially when the person viewing is very appreciative. Sometimes it's nice to not be watched at all, so I can leave my self-consciousness completely behind.

I'm kind of in between the first two options. I'm definitely an exhibitionist, but not to the extreme example in option 1...but I'm more than just someone who likes to show off or play in front of their partner. It also depends hugely on what mood I'm in at the time and how I feel about how I look. If I feel sexy, I kind of like everyone to know it.

I don't strip for the masses, but I have no problem getting naked in front of people I know and in many different situations. I am not super comfortable with my entire body, but have no problem exposing my breasts at a play party for some much appreciated public stimulation.

I musta voted without commenting a while ago lol. I voted: I am not a public exhibitionist, but exposing myself for my partner is a huge turn on and I love every minute!

I don't like it when people expose themselves in public in front of obvious eyes. It fun to be a bit daring on occasion with the chance of getting caught. But that is a rarely acted on thrill.

I have great breasts and I do like to show off my cleavage. It just flows so....organically, from my neck, down to the swell of my breasts.

I don't think I would strip (I doubt anyone would pay to see my C Section scar and the cellulite on my thighs, and most strippers are MUCH younger than I am.)

it depends. i've had a quite a bit of public sex, and that kind of thing, but if it's more than just my thighs or part of my tits, than it's too much. not anymore naughty parts showing than that!

I just learned about Xtube from a guy friend of mine who used to be on there for a few years. I'm super tempted to get involved, but I'm scared it's too risky.

I think if I /knew how/ to strip in a sexy way, I probably would feel a lot more comfortable. I'm fairly confident in my body shape, but I would still feel unsure about stripping.

Im down with the saying 'to each it's own". But I find it obnoxious for people to get naked all in the game of being an attention whore.
If you are stripping in public, where other eyes aren't, then yes, go for it. I just hope you don't get caught.

Not in public, but I'm recently coming around to being comfortable with showing off my body to my girlfriend. I used to be so "Nooo! Don't look at me!" I still have body image issues..slowly but surely..I am progressing.
