I wonder out of everyone (that is still here) on Eden, who is having trouble finding something, anything, to review. Did I miss something? Did Eden stop the review program and I missed notification or what? I've spent a heck of a lot of time and combed through almost 1k products searching for something to review and nothing. Most are not available for purchase or review, the lingerie is completely off of the review list (but they're still on the list of available reviews.
How many have this problem?

I mentioned about this on another thread this morning. I was wondering if assignments were being phased out with the new changes because I've put in 4 requests within the past two weeks, all for items below my price range and without the max number of reviews (or no reviews at all), but I keep getting denied. I wondered if I was just unlucky to have chosen the items that have other pending reviews ahead of me or if I missed an announcement about the review program in general. I just became an advanced reviewer, so maybe I don't know the ins and outs yet.

My mentor requested products for me, but there was no reply iirc so I just said "Nvm, it would be quicker for me to review stuff I already have on hand"
This was also the case last time I was mentored, in December 2012, so I have never received a free assignment from EF at all. I figured I wasn't reputable enough to be approved for one yet, but after seeing that top reviewers are also declined, I dunno.

from what I understand, the free assignments program is still operating. I've come across a few recent reviews by newbies having received product free. and they are for items not yet available for purchase.
I have requested many items w/o 3 verified reviews & have been repeatedly turned down. I've checked back on them a week later & they still don't have 3 verified reviews. idk, maybe they don't want any more reviews?

Some clarifications.
Review program has been reduced until we fix the program to address many issues recently discussed. Free assignments and DR are still going out to selected contributors. Student requests have been more carefully vetted.

I have not had an assignment for 5 months now and I search every day but it does not seem like there is anything new or interesting. If I am lucky to find something I want to try, it ether has 3 or more reviews already (in less than a day after being posted no less) or my request sits there for days until I finally just cancel and keep searching. I almost feel like I am not welcome on the site but I have felt like that for the last near 2 years I have been here. There is not even anything interesting to get on a buy out assignment so I am just wondering if I should just cancel my account because I hate not being able to contribute to the community.

You can't find anything to do a buyout on? Wow, I am surprised that in two years you haven't been able to find anything! If nothing is worth buying, then why do you want something for free to review?

People can still buy their own toys and review them. As long as they are bought from Eden, you can get points for the review. If not from Eden, you can still review, just not for points.
I think now, with fewer people reviewing is the perfect time for you to increase your visibility and get your rank up. I bet if you turn in some great reviews you will be more likely to be chosen for free assignments! Especially as someone with 18 reviews under her belt, you would quickly advance and show how reliable you are to admin, plus the higher rank would qualify you for nicer free assignments when you do get them.
My understanding is that there has been so much abuse that they are looking carefully at who they give the assignments to. I know I've read some shitty (excuse my language, but come on it's accurate) reviews from some people for those free items. I believe this is just one area they are attempting to fix and in the meantime, they have to assess members based on current activity, as well as previous. A lot of people left and others tried to sabotage reviews, so I think Eden is trying to decide who is reliable and trustworthy. It presents a problem for those who haven't caused any problems, the honest members/reviewers, to be sure.
But, you can still contribute and every honest review is valuable. I am currently editing and would love to see more of the experienced reviewers submitting! Please consider it, but I sure understand if you are not in the financial situation to buy anything right now (I have trouble with that myself, ugh).

I do have a few things I could review but I am now to the point where I feel like no review I do would be good enough for EF standards.So, I keep checking everyday and hopefully things will get better not only for myself but EF as well. I have always said it takes just one person to ruin it for everyone and that sure feels like the case here.

I certainly hope you don't think anyone has downvoted you recently? I haven't see anyone doing this, everyone has been consistent in the votes I've seen. But, I admit, I cannot see all of them. Frankly, I would report my suspicion to Stormy in a PM. I really had hoped that nonsense had been removed with the exodus!
There are so many new people here, that it seems like everyone is being welcomed. You really should have no problem now, (I hope). You will be happy to hear that they are working on changes to thee review program, many of which address your concerns. I heard that the availability of the free assignments from before was sparse because so many were competing, but now, with fewer qualified reviewers, it should be better. I think what I said about that above still stands. They are trying to determine who is trustworthy after getting burned. The best way to get noticed is to keep reviewing and commenting on others reviews. You definitely should find the forum more welcoming, but the problem is it's so greatly diminished from the traffic it once had, that it might take longer than you expect for comments on discussions or questions.

While I have always been treated with respect and friendliness by staff, customer service and quite a few members...I too noticed cliques on Eden in the past, but not now. Those that were unkind and unfriendly have left. That being said...I never got my mentors to get me free toys and have bought most of the items I reviewed out of my own pocket.
