#AskEden - Setting lures: Question about the highest rating....

Contributor: catsin catsin
I'm not quite sure where this is most appropriate placed in the forums, so I've opted for this category.

When you're setting lures on an item, do you choose the option "in my hands now" only if you've already purchased it or is that simply a reference to the fact that you are planning to purchase the item?

This confuses me...

It's really up to you since lures are essentially useless and just a reference for yourself (and whoever views your wishlists) on how interested in an item you are but personally, I use it for items I already have (most of the time) since I have a wishlist showing items I own/owned. But I also have another set of wishlists where I use it to show that I really want the item. So it can go either way.

It is up to the person. I set them at the top when I am going to buy the item. Of course this does not always mean I do, sometimes I forget.

I work on the assumption that it's to be interpreted as "[I want it] in my hands now."

It's just a ratings system really, you give 5 points to things you want the most, down to 1 point for things you want less urgently. I wouldn't pay a great deal of attention to the associated statements.

Yup, this is what it means.

I wouldn't say setting lures is useless. We use the information to help determine if we carry a product or not. It's not the ONLY factor, just one of them.
