Editing posts

I would love to see an easy way to edit posts. I feel like going back and fixing typos or small errors isn't really worth bothering an administrator about.

Just a thought!

I agree there.I just pulled up a post I made that I wanted to amend and figured out there is no way to do so

Great feature, we love having that extended to the followups also!

But I suspect that Sanjay et al are asking for a way to edit forum posts.

Yeah, I am excited about the new editing option for follow-ups.

I think she was talking about editing forum posts, which would be nice.

Yeah I think you are right. I should have been drinking coffee all day... but I am going to start right now.

Yeah, sorry y'all... maybe at some point while going back and forth between the forum and contributor accounts I became snow blind. That sounds like a doog excuse. But seriously, the coffee is on, and there are no secret ancient techniques that I currently know of to edit forum posts.

Bingo! I suppose I should have been more clear about it. Too bad I don't have an edit feature so that I could clarify (har har har)!

However, I must also mention that I love Gary's flair in revelations!

I actually prefer not having an edit feature in forums. Sure, we all make the occasional typo or spell something wrong but I'd rather deal with that than the posts changing all the time.

Drama does occasionally occur on any forum and it makes it a whole lot worse when people can go back and change what they said.

Ditto the drama bit. I don't want to support drama, but I'd like it if people were held responsible for what they wrote by the permanence of the posts on here.

Yeah I can understand that, but sometimes I wish I could go back and fix things, or perhaps remove information that might be too personal to share in hindsight. Another forum I used to participate in resolved the "drama" problem by putting a note on posts that had been edited to show that they had been in fact "tampered with."
