INTERNATIONAL SECTION....

Contributor: Shellz31 Shellz31
A couple of us Aussies have been chatting and wondering how many other international contributors on here would love a section where we can ask others of their experiences - if we have an issue.
This will also hopefully prevent those who don't go through such experiences to make comments making out we are ungrateful or greedy in certain ways. Which is not the case cause we aren't asking for anything extra.

I agree, sometimes people do forget that not everyone on EF is from America and so our circumstances are a bit different. If nothing else and International section would be a cool place to maybe meet some more people close by

I know I'm an American and all but as both of yall's friend, I say yes! A lot of my students were Aussies it seems so I definitely think Eden should go more global because we know they can! And a great place to start is with a specific international category.

But I also hope that most people keep the chatting to a central location because I'd be sad to see all the other nationalities leave to their own area on the forum and we (Americans) would lose their perspective. I would be so sad! And I personally love conversing and learning from people further away rather than closer by. (Not to mention the accents!)

I'd love that! I don't think there is someone else from Poland here, but maybe some other Central European. We could bitch together about crappy selections made by Scala together.

BTW I was waiting to see who would pick up the Jopen line for Europe - a new company (maybe child of some other bigger firm) called Swan did - google "sawn vibes". I like the names they gave to the vibes.

Awwww, we would never just stick to the international section - I'm thinking of it being more of a place where we can support each other over shipping or find advice on shipping etc.
Wouldn't want it to isolate in any way.

It's just that if any overseas contributors make any posts on having to place an order - like in the points bank thread I started when I wanted to borrow points cause the toy I wanted was on sale, but I didn't have quite enough to finish my order before the sale ended. Those who don't have to deal with working an order to get the most out of the shipping don't understand and I find some of the comments rather frustrating.
So I thought if there was a international section we could feel free to post such things without those comments - hopefully.
Although, borrowing points doesn't look it can happen any more with the changes.

I think there might be one other member from Poland - but I'm not 100% sure.
Wouldn't it be cool if there was a way of finding everyone from certain countries on here..... if there wasn't already one I'm not aware of.

I kinda like the idea of "Eden Around the World".

So... wait, what? There are changes now that don't allow for sharing of points???

I am a Canuck so I am international. There are quite a few of us kicking around here.

Jen - You missed the monster thread about the Points update?

I guess I did! Things have been insane for me. I paint my new home tomorrow and move in on Saturday so I haven't been on much... *goes to look for it now*

Weeellll Arch is a first generation Polish Canadian....that sort of counts doesn't it? LOL It might be nice to have a section devoted to those who live outside the US.

While I don't oppose an International Section of the forums, unless you discuss issues openly with the entire community, people will never learn that there are international members and that you have different issues. I'm sure it can be frustrating some of the responses you get, but I look at it as an opportunity to educate me. And if you don't continue to educate me, I will never learn of some of the issues you as an international customer have. I may not have the same issues, but I can certainly try to provide solutions.

How long as Canada been "international"? I mean, sure...technically a different country. But Canada and the US touch...spoon almost!

Seriously, I love learning about different parts of the world and breaking the stereotype of the closed-minded mono-lingual American self-centered island of processed food eating stupid.

Thanks for the link, Lummox! I kept searching "Eden Points" and couldn't figure out where it could be.

Hehehe spooning! That's pretty awesome, JR! International and yet super tight buddies. I want to take a train north through the U.S. and into Canada one day! I hear it's beautiful!
