Should discontinued products and their reviews be removed from the site?

This, a hundred times this.

I think it's a good idea for an option to keep discontinued items from showing up in a search.

I think they should be left up.

I wish they would be deleted because I feel like leaving the page up is teasing and taunting me that I can't get that toy anymore

I think it's important to keep the reviews up. Someone might have purchased the same item from another place/otherwise have it and could benefit from seeing what others have said about it.

I don't think it harms anything to keep them up but maybe the "discontinued" mark should show up on all associated review pages also?

Sure it's annoying to find out that the product has been discontinued, but if you want is that badly I'm sure you can find it somewhere. I know it's blasphemous to buy from other companies but if EF doesn't have it, I think it can be forgiven.

I think the reviews should stay available.

When I do a search, there's a little box I can check to hide out of stock products... I usually do so because it cuts down on the disappointment factor

I have found many toys that I want but that they no longer carry. If you aren't going to bring it back get rid of it. If someone got the points for it those points should of course always count, but I don't comment on reviews for toys that are not available so just do away with them. esp if the toy is no longer produced any more and not only can I not get it here, but I cannot get it anywhere

Well, if I can't buy it here, I don't want to be lead to thinking I can.
Taking them out and putting them back if eden starts selling it again seems logical.

I think they should be kept on the site but put in a separate place so they don't get confused with in-stock products.

I recently did review for Passion Tango that EF brought back from being discontinued. so this does show items are brought back. there's nothing to fix. something can be learned from reviews whether for a disc'd item or not.

Even though this site stops carrying them, doesn't mean you can't find them somewhere else. I like to have the option of reading the reviews so I would say let them stay!

Exactly! I say, keep them. On top of this, people use this site for reviews on items whether they are buying them from this site or not. Reviews, no matter the sell status of the item, are always useful.

Aside from the small problem of "site clutter," there isn't much harm in leaving them up. Especially given that discontinued products may return, I'm fine with them being left up. But I do agree with a suggestion that came up about parsing them out of most searches; it might be nice to have a checkbox option to include only currently available toys in a search.

I think it should stay up. Sometimes things come back and the reviews are really helpful if another store still carries the product.

I think that's what draws a lot of people here in the first place while shopping even if they have never heard of the site.

Personally i like that eden keeps the reviews up for discontinued products. There have been plenty of times i wanted to know about a toy i've seen outside of the site and google to find well written reviews, the first thing to pop up is usually an eden review, which brings more traffic to the site.

I think EF should keep them up. It is helpful to see what reviews were on similar products from the same manufacturer.

Some really shouldn't be here, but some should stay.

I agree on this I rather read the review here before anywhere else.

Yep! I can never find reviews for toys as good as the ones on EF. I say keep 'em up.

I say leave 'em. If I'm interested in the toy, I love being able to read about it. The reviews were what brought me here in the first place. I would like it if "(discontinued)" was a part of the product title. That would save a lot of time and confusion. Otherwise, I like seeing all of the options that are out there (not only on EF), and at the same time I like to giggle at some of the toys that have been discontinued

I think it's great to leave them up. If you find something you're interested in you can always buy it from the company's website or through another website. Just because EF discontinues it doesn't mean the manufacturer did!
