What do you think of an "EdenToy Club"?

Contributor: Woman China Woman China
A few weeks ago I had to make a decision. To order or not to order the Eroscillator. I ended up buying it, but today while in the EdenLit Club meeting I had an idea that could have helped me in making a decision.

What about having a sex toy club here at EF where members can get together and discuss one toy specifically each month? I know there are reviews, and video reviews and such, but to discuss the ins and outs, compare one toy to another, discuss with other people what you liked or did not like about a specific toy might have a greater success of finding a toy you fall in love with rather than just taking a chance. And as a result, feeling like one wasted their money, points or gift certificates.

My other thought was, not everyone chooses to write reviews on products, and this might encourage further discussion from many various people who have the toy being discussed. Tricks on using it, durability, maybe they found something similar but better for them for a specific reason? The in's and outs, and all that jazz.

In my head, it would be along the lines of the Naked Reader Book Club where members discuss the book being presented for the month, or the Porn Club.

No, I think the reviews are enough for choosing a toy.

How about instead of a toy club, do a "toy highlight of the week" or something of the sort? And every week, a new toy could be voted on and that would be the one what would be highlighted and talked about? Something like that.

Sounds like a cool idea.

How about instead of one specific toy, could the discussion be about a small group of toys that are similar? Members could compare and contrast the pros and cons of each toy and share our experiences and opinions without having to write a full review. Members could also ask specific questions regarding the toys.

This sounds like a great idea. I think that this would be a bit better than a club. I think that it would be a great way to highlight some lesser-known toys, too!

The other thought I was having was a toy comparison. Such as comparing The Lelo Ina to Jopen Vanity Vr6. Or the Hitachi vs the Fairy Wand.

It's a nice idea, but I'm not sure that I personally would take part in it. Maybe though.

Might work but the expense to Eden might be too great.

That is a great idea, but only if the people buy their item themselves.

Ha! It is funny that you should bring this idea up... we do currently have a few things in this realm that we are working on developing at the moment.

Right now the emphasis is in different areas, but we would love to hear any further ideas or suggestions that you might have on this topic. You can either post them here, or email them to me privately at gary@edenfantasys.com

Thanks!

I did some research and some close reading about some of the programs/clubs we have hear at EF. And I didn't quite mean that EF would have to supply a zillion people with a much desired toy. I was thinking more or less, we ask a group of people who have the same toy to get together for a set period of time, and talk about a specific toy.

For me, I think reviews that compare two toys is the best kind of review. I am at the moment working on a review to compare the Smartballs to the Ami to regular old fashioned ben wa balls, so when I get the Intensity, I'll be able to give a proper comparison review about each toy, discuss the pro's and con's, and be able to give advice and opinions on each item.

But sometimes, when you write a review you run out of space.

This is the type of discussion I'd like to encourage in this club if it does go forward. Lots of comparisons, and tricks. For example, when I "loose" a benwa ball in me, I stand up and watch a Monty Python sketch to laugh and the laughing helps to pass the ball. Or that the "Better Than Chocolate" works best for me as a warm up toy if I am laying face down, one leg bent and pulled up to the side, reading something of an erotic nature or write it. I've read in the Forums regarding butt plugs that a woman wears hers to bed, and that she's experienced no problems during the night. Someone responded with what about gas? Her reply was it doesn't seem to expel the toy, the gas seems to go around it. And I've never seen anything like that in a review. But for me, it was one of those epiphany moments when it came to bum plugs.

Another example I was thinking of is a group of women comparing lube and discussing the results during solo play and during sex. (I only thought women because I am a woman, but it could also be a group of men discussing lube then sensation of the two comparing lubes during sex from his point of view, or various condoms in a male dominant discussion and also with input from women about the various sensations if any found with ribbed for her pleasure or condoms on sex toys the end results). Does one lube tingle/burn when it is not designed too? I mean I read all the reviews of the lube called "Probe" and everyone called it amazing, but I found it not such a good lube as it dries fast... it could be that the current humidity here where I live is about 13% (and holy smokes my eyes feel like they are made out of sand and it's only 7:30 in the morning and I've already had 3L of water to try to keep my skin moisturised) but to discuss it with other members. Because if I find another member who experiences the same thing as I do and something works better for her, my chances of finding something I might like more are greater.

I see lots of people talking about things they don't like about their toys and in the reviews, a lot of the time it is always the same thing. But there has to be other reasons too. I mean the one off the top of my head is the Lelo Isla; the majority of the reviews spoke about that wretched crease and it being unsafe. Yes, it worried me too, but for me I bought it because it was a g-spot toy with no rabbit arm. Ergo... thrusting!!! But with the Isla... and the thinness of it combined with the lack of length for me made it a toy that just became a clit toy. And with so many reviews out there on the Isla, someone who is looking at buying it might not read every single review and might miss that one peice of info that might make or break the toy in their mind.

In reading the Forums, I see a lot more discussion of the ins and outs of toys. And a lot of the tricks and discoveries members have found while using a specific toy that I don't see in people's reviews.

I know most of these are luxury items, but these are the things I am looking at one day possibly comparing when I have them all. Unless I find

Zini's Zook vs Lelo's Ina vs Jopen's Vanity vr6
Hitachi vs Fairy Wand vs the Eroscillator
Better than Chocolate vs LayaSpot vs Nea/Lily
Ultimate Massager (pocket rocket) vs iVibe Pocket Rocket
Nickle Handcuffs vs Double Locking Nickle Handcuffs.

I'd rather not have to buy them all to find out which might be better for my purpose or use. I'd rather try to make the best decision the first time around and use my money, points, certificates on something I know has a higher chance of being something I would like the first time around.

The EdenToy Club, could have all the workings of a toy in one place for ones scrolling pleasure and I could discover something that might work better than something originally I have in mind.

Thanks Rossie!!!! I hope some sort of comparison review can happen. I am torn between the vr3 and the Zook. And the vr6 and Ran.

I'm so confused!!!

I think this could be a really great club! I know I've found myself with more questions about a toy than there seem to be answers for, and a club like you describe would probably promote more discussion than just asking a question on the forums!
