I'm sorry; this post was in response to a post that is no longer here.

Yeah, my school would expel me for plagiarism. It's a VERY serious offense. This is an unfortunate situation, and I imagine difficult for all involved. What I want to know is what's going to stop her from just making another account?
That's my question too. She has already made so many accounts, her husband is on here too now, so what is to stop her from doing the same thing with his account or creating more and more accounts? I guess really there's only so much that can be done though logistically..and hopefully she'll eventually get bored and just stop.

I wonder if they could block or recognize her IP address? I'm not sure if EF is set up to be able to do that or not though... just a thought.

You can cycle IP addresses though.

They may not be able to block her IP address, but hopefully they will block her actual address from being sent products for review!

I just don't get it though, Eden gives us so very much, products to review, points to purchase toys, huge discounts and more. You would have to be super selfish to want to have multiple accounts. I just find it mindboggling.

If EF blocked her IP, though, wouldn't that block her husband as well? (I'm assuming they reside together, and thus share the same IP.) I wouldn't want him to be penalized because of her behavior, if he's not doing anything wrong.

I think its very sad when something like this happens, I am not saying I disagree with the ban though. From the sounds of it, it had to be done. It is very unfortunate.

I am with everyone else here. We get so much. Hell I just bout 6 DVDs with Eden points that initially totaled over $112 before my discount. I also received 2 DVDs from the Porn Club and 1 free DVD for review (my free product). All of these I plan to review (the one I bought and not obligated to review), so I am essentially trying to give back to Eden. I think that is a heck of a lot to get. I really do not want or need more at this time. So to me I don't understand why someone would want to farm.

Just want to let everyone know, If you cap out on your points, that should be fine (granted you did not spam, or make false reviews). I don't think you should feel you need to be less point getting, atleast that is what I took out of multiple post from the staff.

Again it is a shame, I kinda feel bad. I just don't know who I feel bad for more? Eden (as well as the community) for being taken advantage of or the fact that someone would resort to stuff like this. Hope she will see the error in her way, and I wish her a good future

That is my thoughts, not that they are really that important.

I completely agree. Without having to do anything unethical, unfair, or just plain wrong, I've managed to accrue plenty of points and have been sent many free products for review. Eden is so generous that I can't actually keep up! I'm staying up late tonight to catch up on my reviews! If you put hard work in for a while, then you get all the points, discounts, and products you could want and more! Now I have to find time to fit it all in instead of struggling to prove myself a good, honest, hard-working new-comer. I you, EF!

Hey, guys:

Because of the nature of the situation (multiple accounts, plagiarism, etc.) we have blocked Sarah's IP address to prevent further incidents. This is a last resort measure, but it's the only way we can ensure that no more false accounts pop up.

Delicious Surprise - We have reasons to believe that even her husband's account is a fake. All of the accounts associated with her had duplicate backend information and a pattern of the same behavior, votes, and general point-farming.

That deeply saddens me to hear, but if that's the case I completely understand and approve of an IP ban.

The extents to which people want to abuse systems of goodwill continue to disappoint me.

I had a feeling that was the case with the husband's account as well..especially since the way she described her husband didn't fit with how he then seemed when he started using EF like the very next day..I thought I was overanalyzing though..I just haven't trusted that girl from the get go.

I have to completely second you here, DeliciousSurprise.

But at least for every 1 bad apple, we seem to have a handful of really great people!

That we do. There is always a bad apple or 2.

Thanks for the hard work EF Staffers

They missed one. I already sent an email to Kristi. Her screen name is Sera. There's even a message from her new screen name in the forum.

The Screen name Sera is actually the recently-changed name of Sarah Marlatt's original account. I haven't seen any activity since the ban, but she started a few threads just before the ban. Was it possibly one of them that you saw?

Maybe I am a bit confused, because when I search for any of her aliases they're deleted, but this one is still here and able to be searched for (and found). Am I misunderstanding what Eden does when they ban????

Yes, the thread where Sarah announces her name change was done not long before we issued the banning.

The profiles remain, she just cannot access them at all. I'm thinking that the ones you searched for were aliases she used for her main account. I know it's confusing for you guys to figure out which were aliases and which were actual accounts, but we've got it sorted.

She had several accounts and I'm not even sure of all the names, but her main one was Sarah Marlatt and she just kept changing the screen name - Charlotte7, Sera, SarahMarlatt were some of them. So even if she started a thread under a different screen name, they all update anytime she changes it.

Wow. I never saw that coming! I was unaware of the behavior she was doing, I only saw her posts on the forum, but I didn't think anything of them because I always say legit ones!

Thanks to EF for being able to handle this situation with candor, and as usual-

WHY THE HELL would anybody ever find the NEED/WANT to take advantage of all this stuff? Man! Greedy huh?

I'm so glad that the good folk out number the bad

Hope everyone has a great Thanskgiving ! (How ironic... she gets banned a week before Thanksgiving...)

Oh, p.s.- I just spent 20$ in points a little over a week ago and i already 14.41 again... people feel the need to point farm why? :p

Edit- Just realized who that chick was. It's weird because I remember seeing her sarahmarlett account on the forum and just thinking she was cool

but i remember her stupid spam alias following and unfollowing everyone :|

Aw how awful! I hate plagiarism. It's something that never fails to make me sad when I hear about it happening. I just cannot understand WHY. I hate plagiarism and think it is a highly despicable act. I also really am growing unhappy when I hear of "point farming" Goodness it's such a greedy thing and upsetting to hear about when some of us are not here for those kind of reasons, we LOVE this place.

Anyways, I hate that all that happened just to gain points I am glad that EF will take these things seriously though. Not every place/site cares. I'm glad EF does.
