I had a comment flagged in the recent thread regarding the ban of a community member. I noticed that a couple others had been flagged as well.
I also noticed that people seemed to be flagging each other for what seemed like no reason whatsoever. I would just like to know how many people were flagged and were flagging and what their opinions on it are.

I chose "WTF" because that thread happened six months ago. It's irrelevant to talk about it now, and to talk about what happened. Sure, some things were questionable and unreasonable, but that was quite a while now. What that is called, I believe, is "phantoming," or something of the sort - reviving a thread that is over a few months old, especially when it was filled with bad feelings, perpetuating drama.

I completely and totally agree with this post (and the WTF vote).

I'm also a bit confused as to why this is being dredged up now.

I didn't realize the thread was that old. Normally I check the date but I assumed it was recent because there had been a recent post on it(my bad). However I agree with you, no need to rehash drama on an issue that has been laid to rest. I am pissed that I was flagged though. There was nothing insulting, emotional or offensive in my post. It was just my opinion on why I had no problem with the public ban. If I screwed up and was banned and they announced it... well thats up to them to decide. My feelings about the situation had to do with how I was treated when one of my posts offended somebody who happened to be admin. It was easy to deal with and I suffered no animosity after the fact.

Hopefully people will stop posting and it will disappear into the background by tomorrow.

I haven't been flagged (as far as I know) and have never flagged anyone. I enjoy hearing others opinions. If I'm offended by something, I'll leave the thread - simple.

Hey, guys.

I'm stepping in here to let you all know that there has been at least one account created for the sole purpose of stirring up trouble (aka a "troll.")These unwarranted flags are a part of this and do not count against those who were flagged. We are handling the situation and I ask that we just ignore these deliberately provocative posts.

I refuse to read the old thread to really see what all the fuss is about but yeah...it's old news at this point and everyone is really getting off track of the purpose of the Eden community with it. Old threads that are completed or are not productive could be removed and/or locked and admin should be left to their decisions.

The fact that the community is notified is simply so there aren't 15 threads created asking what happened to so and so. Should it be different - can't say it matters. Running sites is a pain in the ass I know and there's always someone who won't be happy.

Flagging posts shouldn't be abused but are necessary to keep the flow of a forum running smoothly. On my own site I usually respond to every reported post and let the one doing the reporting understand the decision and why but the community as a whole don't need to debate my final decisions. Opinions from the community are always welcome but those destined as trouble makers and haters are not. Doubt Eden peeps are too much different.

The community here seems pretty close so what happens is between many friends here. Makes for personal feelings and emotions to get in the way. Just need to step back and check out the bigger picture.

In ideal situations everyone would follow rules and share good conduct then there would be less issues. Fact is life isn't that simple.

Haha, this was my reaction. I feel like it's a pretty serious topic, but I just don't have any connection to it because it was so long ago.

The only post I flagged was from a woman who accused the president of the natural disasters happening in the Southern states and called him the anti christ. I support people having their own opinions, but this is not something that needs to be posted in a thread about "toys with rumbly v. buzzy vibrations."
