Resource link on the Review page.

Hi everyone!

I would like to bring your attention to the new feature Resources that is on the left side of any review page. If there is no resource added, you’ll just see “Add a Resource” link.

I would like you to start submitting resources – basically any webpage that you think will fit into the content of this review.

Here are some examples of the pages that already have resources on them:
1. Review of the toy Ultime link . The resource refers to the Shasta Gibson’s website with the review of the same product and a few pictures added.
2. Review of the toy Buddy link that has a nice video tour of the manufacturer’s facility.

Yes, you can submit any resource: webpage, video, any page from edenfantasys.com, etc... They are great additions as long as they are useful, relevant and legal.

There will be a delay between submission and the actual resource posting. The thumbnail should be generated and the resource has to be moderated, but we will do it fast.

So, just to clarify, are we supposed to try to find something to add when we post reviews, or are we supposed to add resources for existing reviews?

I gotta say, not everyone probably has the time to search the internet for useful resources to add onto their reviews. As a contributor I kind of find this a hassle, and as a shopper I really don't care about it at all. When I'm shopping for something, the extra stuff tends to distract me from actually shopping. Time may change this though, plus it's just my opinion.

Totally optional! Only do it if say, you read a review, and your blog has a review of the same item; voila, you can post it. Or I know there is something on Eden on sex and disablity that talks about Natural Contours toys being designed for those who are disabled; you could link to that. No NEED to search for something, but if you have something, here is an easy way to post it!

Bulma- this is just a new feature available if for some reason you wanted to use it. We're not demanding it of you. =)
It is just handy if there's something you want to refer to in a review and provide additional info about, etc. We'll be adding resources to reviews internally, mostly, so hopefully they'll provide additional info for people. As time goes on, we'll ask for more feedback.

Some great examples of the recent resource posts:
1. Fitting a cockring instructions: link
2. Elise vibe review on a UK community site SmartPlanet link
3. A naive but cute ed video about all sex toys from VideoJug: link You need to confirm your age before you can see the video.
4. Funny YouTube video attached to the Sabar review link Don't ask me why they suggested it here.

Make your suggestions!
And of course - everything is TOTALLY optional!

What about adding a link to the product from the manufacture's web site? I've sometimes found useful information on these types of sites. Of course, if the manufacture was selling the product I would not add their link.

Thanks, good to know that its something thats completely optional. My biggest fears were that this would be a requirement for every review submitted. There are days I would have time for it, and days that I wouldn't. I will probably use this some, though I doubt I would link to pages outside this site.

Thanks everyone for clearing things up for me.

No problem. As long as it is of interest, has additional info, interesting suggestions, etc...

I think it's a really cool feature, and thanks for pointing out my contribution to my Buddy review. The only thing I'd change is the word limit for describing the resource. I actually had a hard time condensing just one sentence into a shorter sentence that still described the video. I know it's a design thing, but I think it wouldn't hurt to allow a few more words. Just a suggestion!
