CRISCO? As lube???

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Just saw an old adult movie where they use CRISCO shortening for lube. I have heard of using VASALINE (never done so) but CRISCO? Anyone ever done this? Anyone use VASALINE? If so, why and how good do you think either of these are?

Crisco is still popular in the hardcore fisting scene, some edgier sex shops will have a stack of Crisco in the back. I generally avoid it, especially since it's not latex-compatible. Vaseline doesn't make a very good lube, it's too thick and not that slippery.

Eek. I don't think I would ever be desperate enough for lube to start using kitchen and bathroom staples. But then again, I'm not really into things like hardcore fisting.

I don't think I could use either of those. It would get the job done but I'd be worried about side effects.

Eww, I would not eat Crisco, nor use it for lube. Coconut oil, maybe.

Vaseline is a petroleum product. You want that in your orifices?

Coconut oil isn't very good for anal play because it melts and becomes very thin.

I use Crisco sometimes. For a big silicone toy it doesn't have the problem of being "squeegeed off" by the anus, but it is very thick so it only works for slow moving toys.

I can't see Vaseline being a good thing for any sort of sex lube.

For anal use I don't worry about oil-based lubes. They'll come out soon enough to not cause a problem.

For anal use they are fine, like ScottA said they are not very slippery so slow thrusting works best. Works good for shower/tub type play.
